This month practically no sales at 123rf (5 dls). I have usually 100 and more dl per month. Typical fluctuation I think.

For me 123rf picked very well recently, but now I am seeing a huge downfall with same 0 sales in last 2 days.

I think it's a tracking error on 123RF's side. I haven't had a 0 day for over a year and these 2 days have been an anomaly. I'm sure they'll total it up when they fix their system.

Looks like everything is working again. The total is showing sales from the last 2 days.

I get $5 a month if I'm lucky. Maybe it's not the place to be for video, or videos on similar topics are much better than mine, or I have the wrong niche for 123RF. Either way, I make about 15 to 20 times less than Shutterstock, and about 40 to 80 times less than Pond5.

i normally do not worry too much about slow monhts, but i was about to come here and open a thread on sales on 123 and saw this thread,

oddly enough, i have the same experience, i have an exceptionally slow month at 123 and was wondering if something is the matter

lets hope its a reporting issue,

I'm in the same boat! January and February were good while March and April slowed down considerably averaging 4 sales during those months.

123 has been steadily dropping month by month since December. I saw almost 50% of the amount SS earns that month but this month is about 10% which is back to what I was seeing 2 years ago. I was getting close to the next pay tier too but unless it dramatically picks up I doubt that's going to happen any time soon now.

My april is relatively  OK and better than last year although for some reason April has always been very poor for me on there.

I know many people dismiss alexa.com's rankings because they're not perfect, but I've been keeping occasional stats on the agencies for the last 3 years. Back in March 2014 when I took the first snapshot, 123rf was 472 globally and 551 in the US. They have been steadily sinking since and are now (earlier this week) 1,137 globally and 1,1952 in the US.

There was a rumor about selling a year or so back and then a more recent one about taking the company public (I assume the parent company that owns Inmagine too, but I don't know). I left them earlier this year so I have nothing up to date to share, but I left because their declining sales dropped me back a level in royalty rates and I couldn't see why their failures (compared to Adobe Stock/fotolia, Shutterstock et al) should cost me money. I'd have waited it out otherwise

I don't normally worry about it either, but it was such an abrupt decline the last month and this month even more that it made me wonder if it was happening to others.

Last time I submitted a batch I had 70 images rejected in 74. Before that, I'd had a total of 4 images rejected in one year. It seems as though they are making big changes or getting into some kind of trouble storing images? Anyway, after that rejected batch, not a single sale for a month. Go figure.

They've been really aggressive with rejections lately. The main reason for most of my rejections was 'Minimal Commercial Value'. I don't think most of the reviewers know what sells and what doesn't, they just reject based on personal preference. I would just keep submitting until you get a reviewer who isn't rejection happy.

Their traffic took a dive in the last 3 months. From the look of things, their server bill is probably increasing while their overall revenue has been decreasing. The decision to increase rejections probably came from the top.

I got a few rejections for Blur/out focus or Poor Composition recently which used to be quite hard to "achieve" there I can see one or to may be borderline. None for commercial value which is surprising as many of my images are a bit "niche".

Look also Fotolia, Shutterstock, dreamstime, bigstock…
They all have a huge fall in January 2017.

Getty, AdobeStock and Alamy are growing.

I got my first non trademark related rejections there recently (they reject images with the Singapore flag but I always just upload the whole batch of flags everywhere as it's easier to just let the agencies sort it out as some accept them... and I don't possibly see how a national flag can have a copyright).

About 6 images out of a batch of 220 they rejected for being 'too dark' despite the other 214 images having exactly the same grunge style overlay applied and therefore being just as dark. Given that this is an agency who have previously accepted the same batch of images duplicated three times due to a submission error that somehow cloned them all it did make me think that something has changed. The way they've always just accepted everything previously made me think no one was really even looking at the images. I don't think this has anything to do with the decline in sales though.

One type of composition I know they tend to reject are closeup-ups that fill the frame. But really going from accepting everything almost to rejecting almost everything was a little extreme.  :-[

0 May sales and a massive 25c in the last 21 days, something weird happening as my sales have been fairly regular for 6 years.

My sales from a portfolio of over 10,000 images have tanked to less than 25% of what they were. Rumors are 123 are being bought out soon. They operate a tiered earnings system.

My gut conclusion, although I don't want to believe it, is that they are reducing their costs by actively lowering everyone's payment level to make the company appear more profitable and more attractive to their potential buyers. Similar to the rumor of SS gearing their search to lower tier images to reduce payments, except in this case there would seem to be a much clearer reason for it.

On current earnings I will drop two, maybe three levels, was level 5.

My sales has kept steady, but looking at their traffic reveals a drop.

http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/123rf.com (http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/123rf.com)

Their traffic ranking fell from 800 to 1215 in 6 months, and daily page views has dropped by 26%. Less visitors means less downloads. I think that may have something to do with it.

I've never had strong sales with 123rf but there has been a huge drop after March. I had an unusually high number of sales then, whole 10 sales both months! And now I've had 2 sales in April and May. That's back to the stats I had over 2 years ago, but I have since more than quadrupled my portfolio. Is it time to leave them? I feel like it's not worth my time uploading.
