How many images did you have online when you started to make $100 per month at 123RF (excluding EL sales)?
-
Do people actually make that much at 123RF?
-
Do people actually make that much at 123RF?
This month I have zero dl.s!
I have about 200 images online...
Does that mean I need endless number of photos in my portfolio to reach 100 $/month!? :D ::)
-
This month i have 20 Downloads, $7
559 images
-
no. I make 100$ every 2 months. :D
-
How many images did you have online when you started to make $100 per month at 123RF (excluding EL sales)?
I think I would need about 5,000.
-
I have almost 3000 images there now and make well over $100 a month. If IS keeps going like is has over the last 4 months...they might be down around the same in another 4 months :(
-
I started uploading there about 9 months ago and have about 600 of my best images there. This month for the first time I should make 100$ on normal sales (currently at nearly 75$) althought Thanksgiving might ruin it if the customers are
American. Last month I made more but had 2 ELS at about 20$ each.
-
About 500 images online. Estimated earnings this month will be about $60. It's increasing slowly every month.
-
Once upon the time I was very close to $ 100 with 2 EL ....
Now I am back in the $ 20 range but this month it is more the $ 10 don't know what's happening there....
-
Hi Freedom
After around a year with 123rf and about 850 images I have passed the $100.
IMO They are going stronger. I fave my images, but have no clue if that helps.
good luck
Noam
-
I earn 10-20% of the amount earned at DT, SS, IS, StockXpert.
I earn 2-3 times more at BigStock, so I have no idea why 123rf is included in the big 6 and why BigStock is excluded.
As I see, the earnings of this month will be 10% of the others, it's going very-very slowly.
-
so, enlighten this newbie. it's important to have quality images, but the bottom line of selling regularly is still volume, isn't it?
i did post this question to several sites , "what's wrong with my images? i sell , but sell very little , and if any mostly subs. are my keywording, or quality of my images lousy?"
the answers all came back, "your images are good, or else they would have been rejected. but with so little images in your port, and with 6 million images for buyers to choose, it's easy for your images to get buried. keep uploading".
so it's the reality, isn't it? i better be a "shooting machine", as one of my networks put it.
-

My situation is similar, 123RF is a very weak performer for me. It's hard to understand why it can be the best or so for others, but it can.

Adelaide
-
It isn't just quality; it has to be the right images. You also have to upload on a regular basis. Assuning you have a 90% acceptance rate, or better, on any given site, you have a chance. Without MR's you can forget about it. I don't know of anyone making $100 a month without models, volume and a very high acceptance level.
I personally stopped uploading to 123RF due to an acceptance rate of 3%. Sales on my small portfolio is around $1 to $4.50. The low sales is attributed to the fact that I cannot upload anything that would be accepted on a regular basis.
After my next paayout, I'll close out. I should get there in about four to six months.
From now on I'll just try to keep uploading to Alamy and phase out of MS altogether.
Good luck!
-
Im somewhere around that mark with something less than 3000 images , added 1000 new ones in the last few weeks but my downloads number didn't change , maybe even it went down.
-
I got 10% of this number with more than 3000 images. I guess I do not have what they are looking for cause with half less on SS I regularly get over $100
-
I used to have $90-120 a month there. Then I stopped uploading and the number dropped to $80. I have 821 photo at 123rf at the moment.
-
yes, I get more than 100$ with 1600+ photos
diego
-
I have 4,000 + images and make over $100/month there, but my royalties have been stagnant for over a year.
Yeah, it's nice to get a payout every month, but with 4,000 model released images I am aiming for a bit more than the minimal payout and have been very disappointed I can't grow my income on 123.
I agree with icefront and madelaide - BigStock produces several times the sales for me that 123 does, and sales there continue to grow. Not sure how 123 keeps its place on the Big 6.
-
average $130-160 month, has been all year no real improvement though
-
ha..... took me a year to make my first $100 at 123.... 'course I only have a little over a hundred images there..... 8)=tom
-
Right around $100.00 a month since may, 300-550 images with no upward trend.
-
I don't make near thast much I only have 272 images with them
-
It should be around 100$ this month, seeing increase in sales every month :D
-
About 3500 images would get me there. I make 25-40 on 123RF each month. It's all part of the long tail...
-
What's up with 123 RF these days ? It completely died on me , on a track to make $ 4 this month :(
-
It has slowed a bit for me too. Not dead, but November was down from October.
-
I do... Oh, you mean per month? I do in a year! ;D

It has to do something with my luck.
It was quite well there for me last month , so I thought why not upload about 1000 images , so I did.
Then it stopped completely. ;D
-
Already have a BME this month on 123RF (which is not sayin' much) but doing good compared to StockXpert and FT which are dead in the water. They all seem to take turns doing well one month and bad the next (for me) and it would be wonderful if they were all consistent and did well every month ;D
-
My november was disaster. And december is not different.
-

Isn't that the truth. :D I've been doing this for 2 1/2 years now, and I'm still waiting for that one magic month were ALL sites are hot. I've come close a few times, but it's usually exactly like you say. It's an interesting business, and it appears that there is some sort of migration of buyers from one site to the next each month.
-
January looks much better :) Downloads started to pick up! No matter I had poor november and december, 123RF is still still twice better that FT, StockXpert, and 4 times better than BS for me. They have great support for contributors, I appreciate that very much. Easy upload system is big plus too.
-
For what it's worth, the last normal month was November: 32$ with 450 online then. December was 11$ and October 13$, but those were not normal months. Taking an average of 20$ per 500 shots, I would extrapolate you can have 100$/month with 2,500-3,000 pics. Of course it depends to the content of your portfolio. My top sellers are nature/landmarks, not models, just like on SS.
123RF is a nice little low maintenance site with stable and slowly growing earnings. I love their Model Release Attach module, no categories and no fuzz no drama FTP upload and submitting.
-
123RF is really picking up for me. I have downloads every day last several days :)
-
I have a totally opposite experience. For me FT and StockXpert are the only sites, other than SS and IS that have regular sales. I had 3 sales on 123rf in the last 4-5 months.
-
Deleted. ;D

Has anyone tried out this site? 123stock.co.uk, I know they're running a special at the moment

Well, unless I'm mistaken... it's your website. So I'd be pretty worried if you didn't know they had a special on at the moment.

Starting a site with a similar name to 123RF and posting in this forum where they probably look seems like a dumb idea to me.

Along with bringing up an old thread FROM 2009! Seems pretty desperate.

2 months = $50-$60. ???

In case you didn't notice
One, Two, Three,
Royalty Free
has a rhyme.
It makes little sense to plagiarize that name, the way you did it.
Here are better ideas:

1,2,3, Pond, 5 ;D

What strikes me when I see these old threads is the fact that ALMOST NO ONE on them is around here anymore. They've given up on microstock, realizing it is unsustainable.
One of the guys is the NiltoMil guy who ran a blog that would detail his rise to earning a million dollars in microstock. Long gone.

No offence to him but he was one of those people who floats about the internet looking for get rich quick schemes. Good luck to him but I suspect he made more from blogging about Micro rather than actually doing it.

Yes and no, some are posting under a new name some don't post anymore here but still do microstock but some probably gave up completely
-
Why do these boneheads keep ressurecting these ancient threads?
I guess i answered my own question...

I assumed he was one of the people who said he earned $1m in the Poll. Calling yourself 123Shutterstock would not be a good move you would find yourself in court PDQ

No, I mean for anyone and everyone

No its not I'm a pretty average/below average earner and I quite often get over $25 there ...don't confuse your own results with others I daresay you do much better than me on some sites
-
123 makes me something over $1000/month $1500 on the good months. 8000+ files on there

A good mixture

So if you make $1000 on 123 you should make at least $10 000 on Shutterstock!
Congratulation!
-
Thanks, actually just over $4000 on SS good months or $3000 up on bad. Never broken $5000 on SS.

Sorry for asking but do you sell only photos, or you do illustrations and footage too?
-
I have a mixture in my portfolio of all three.

A very good answer ;)

And a perfect formula of Quality + Diversification X Quantity = Many happy returns ;D

Normally I do not disclose personal data,
but I think that in some way can help.
Illustration > photo > footage = 2000
Average upload 20 to 30 images per month.
-
Ah ah ah....yes of course every 7 months

Illustration > photo > footage = 2000

That is amazingly close to my numbers.

Hello,
I'm a vector illustrator, I have a portfolio of now around +1700 files, upload an average of 20/30 files a month, and I have an average on 123rf of more or less 300$/month.
Sometimes 500$, like in april 2015 (via some extra EL)
For the moment 123RF is pretty stable
-
How many images did you have online when you started to make $100 per month at 123RF (excluding EL sales)?
I make about $68/month with 6,000 illustrations. I'm not one of the best out there. So that is kind of low.

Your doing very well then. I make around the same with 6k images.

Now i am back in updating my stock portfolio.
On 123rf i never earned more than 10$ per month... But i have to say that i have very old photos in my portfolio, and not really stock oriented. Do you think is worth to update my portfolio on this site? you can earn something from the sales from here?
-
I have 90% illustrations and about 10% or maybe less photos at 123RF, with over 200 uploads and keeps uploading, but I only make 9$ in over 2 years. I only get 1 or 2 sales a month.
But in CanStockPhoto, I make money faster than 123RF and I have about half of total uploads I have at 123RF.
-
I have around 450 photos on 123rf and make about $40 a month over there
-
I still waiting more than 70 photos to be viewed and maybe I will make more money after, who knows...
:-\

I had 68 images awaiting approval going back over a month, emailed them this morning and reviewed this morning, (except a few editorial images).
-
One of my Best and most consistent sites been there since Day 1. Smart site, things work, Easy upload. They keep there head down and just do the work. LIKE!!!!!!!
-
I would if they doubled sales like they promised when they cut our percentage.
-

I agree, they cut my percentage and sales slowed down. Now I haven't uploaded there for ages. The only thing I like is the automated payouts, wish all the sites did that.
-
Thanks, actually just over $4000 on SS good months or $3000 up on bad. Never broken $5000 on SS.
OMG, Congratulations!
Can you show us your SS portfolio? This would be very inspiring for everyone and would teach us what kind of images or illustrations work best. Although, I understand that genius can not be imitated: one is born with it or not.
Thanks and congrats again!

I don't think Justanotherphotographer thinks it's a great idea to "teach" 20,000 readers what sells so they can imitate.
-
My couple hundred photos earn a pretty consistent $20 per month
-
Sadly no I don't make 100's buck a month there. Maybe half of that.
-
I average $78 monthly for the year. my best month was $290 but it was 2 years ago.

I got 8 us for this month. :'(
-
On a steady downward path for me....shame as it used to be a site that punched above its weight for me....other than the big sites everywhere seems to be struggling.

I don't think it'd take much encouragement to get Justanotherphotographer to share their portfolio. Anyone who is so willing to share their earnings info is doing so out of ego, otherwise they'd know better and protect their investment. Boasting of how much we make is just shooting yourself in the foot. There's a difference between encouraging other content creators with advice and ideas but sharing financial info serves little purpose.

Chandra, I understand your disappointment, but this is the real world, not a Walt Disney story…

Yes.

I must have missed that announcement.
-
Chandra, I understand your disappointment, but this is the real world, not a Walt Disney story…
It is not... until WD buys the rights ;D
Anyway, let's not give it more drama than necessary to the matter. I was just trying to find out what photos Justanotherphotographer does (I think I'm not the only one who's curious here). There is not much more ;)
-
I have 1500 images upload, and my earning is USD 30/month :-[
-
It would take me about 100 years to make $100 total there.
-
I made once previous year in october.
-
Used to make over $100 every month, month after month, year after year, but recently sales have crashed and burned. June was my lowest month there since I joined them in 2011 and, unless thing improve, they are on my cull list.
-
More than 30% less for June compared to the previous 3 months. Still over $100 but they've changed something and I don't like it. If I fall beneath my current level I will remove my portfolio! I'm tired of their commission cuts and empty promises!
-
old thread alert the question was asked 10 years ago, funny enough the answers are still the same lol
-
and no, i do not make 100 any more., my sales are evaporating like on all sites accept for canva which is the only site that shows growth
-
How many images did you have online when you started to make $100 per month at 123RF (excluding EL sales)?
no
-
It's very simple : since 2018 the incomes have dropped by 50% for me on this site, suddenly !
and also :
-The ftp of the site is the slowest of all the web.
-The importation is almost broken, it takes hours to import 10 files, after you can forgot to add the releases.
-the new menu is simply made to avoid contributors to upload and to participate
Worst site evolution possible
-

Unless your growth is going from 1 to 2 downloads a month at Canva, it’s hard to believe you’re seeing any there. Sad downfall.
-
Kinda sad. I liked them for a Long time.
-
$100 a year if I'm lucky.
-
My yearly payout until last year, I pull everything out end of 2018.

it was my third site, now I am thinking to abandon them

Notice the date on the post - things were very different in 2008 for example - your images sold at 123RF

Anybody else having funny business in regards to the payments not coming through? My last 6 months earnings have yet to be paid. It's not much, but it adds up to over $100.
I've contacted support.
-
I've always been paid on time, usually around 15th, or maybe a day or 2 later.

Thanks for your feedback. Elaine from support just got back to me... I feel silly. I had forgotten I switched to Skrill payout, and that has a $100 minimum payment. OOPS. I guess I will be seeing my payout very shortly.
-
123RF same like dreamstime 100 $ payout?
