To all our beloved contributors, remember to Fave your images on 123RF.com.

Please follow steps as below:
1) Login to 123RF
2) Go to "Sell Images" under the category of "For Photographers" at the footer.
3) Click "Faved".
4) Select 5% of your total images.
5) Click "Add to Favorite" for those images that you like to Fave.

I reckon you'll be asking -- why is faving important? The simplest answer to this is SEARCH PRIORITY. Your Faved images will display on the first few pages whenever clients conduct a search. But this doesn't mean you should be spamming your keywords, yes!?

Below is a link to one of the most hit posts on my blog, 'How to maximise your sales on 123rf'. Faving images and rotating which are ur faved images from time to time is paramount to getting good sales on 123rf, you can see some of my results in the blog. At the time of writing the blog, my sales on 123rf were not as good as on dt, but for around 8 or 9 months my sales are on a par with dt and on occasions more than.

What would be very helpful to make full use of that feature would be an easy way to see downloads and return per image. Not by clicking every one, but a simple portfolio list, sortable by views, downloads, royalty per image and indicating which images are faved.
It would be very easy to identify for which image the "faving" is successful and for which not - and thus adapt.
But 123RF unfortunately is one of the few sites that makes it very hard to easily track (for one's own portfolio!) which image has how much downloads / how much royalty earned.

In my case, with a small port of 237 files ( 21 edit. ) , its easier see if both solutions works:

Faved: The few sale i've made was 99% faved phots
Free: 1 sale after put some files for free by a month.

Yes, there's a limit at 5%.
Since the advantage of faved photos is a better search position, if everyone could fave all pictures it would be completely useless.

How do you rotate your faves? I thought that once you faved something, that was it, in perpetuity. I can't see an unfave button.

Go to "Faved", and You will have 2 tabs: "My Images" and "My Faved Images" .

Select "My Faved Images" and below of each image You have a link : "Remove from Fave Images"

This option ( faved photos ) works, but 123RF could give an option ( based on sales or who have a pretty gace Grin

) and give a boost on 5%.

The interface in the area where you pick your faves appears to be broken. There is supposed to be a sort either by image number (age, effectively) or number of downloads. The first appears to work and the second produces some different order which doesn't reflect actual downloads at all.

I'd like to Fave some of the images that (a) sell well on other sites and (b) sell well at 123rf, but I don't see any way to get a view of my portfolio sorted in download order (preferably with the number of downloads for each image showing). Is the download sort known to be broken and on a list to be fixed. I use Firefox 7.0.1 on a Mac if that makes any difference.

The sort by download has been broken for a while. I sent them a message about it a few weeks ago, but have not received any reply. I agree that it's a pain to work around, especially since Faved images do seem to attract more attention from buyers.

Thanks - depressing how little actually works!

I thought I'd found a way around it - from my monthly download list, if I clicked on an image that showed up a lot it took me to that image's page from where I had a link to "Fave" the image. That doesn't work either.

The first one I clicked seemed to set some state that all subsequent images had a link that said "Faved" as if I'd already faved all those images too. If I go back to the interface where I can view the tab for images I've faved, there aren't any - not even the first one got added to my faved list.

What's the point of posting suggestions that we fave our images to improve sales if none of the tools actually work?

1. I find it alarming that emails that are sent to us were not addressed at all. Can you please forward me your email so that I can look into it?
2. We do not track views, we also not not have a RPI metric as well. Just number of downloads and image ID sort order and previously faved images. What else can we do to make your experience better?

The only way around this is, as far as I know is by keeping 2 tabs open, one on the faveimages page and one on the monthly download list. Then by copying the number under the thumbnails of the images in monthly download and pasting them into the search box in the faveimages page (search box with the black button, not the green one).

Remember that faving ur images gives them a boost in search placement, so if u have images which are already selling well on 123rf, it maybe better not to fave them and instead fave images which you think should be selling better.

This has already been mentioned several times in several threads, but I give it another try:
Display information about sales numbers and royalty earned in the portfolio view.
Currently I can sort by number of downloads, but I can't see anywhere (apart from clicking on the image) how often a specific image has sold. How much royalty it has earned is nowhere to be seen.
This information would really be helpful, and it must be there already, so it's only a minor change.
