hey, just a quick note to all you Alamy contributors
that we now have a estimated time for Quality .
they are usually very quick with my uploads, but still it's nice to know the approx review time, like we do with Dreamstime.
Bravo Alamy ! jolly good show  Kiss

I noticed that it says 37 hours until processing, which is not the same as if it said 37 hours until QC. If I upload on a Thursday it says 37 hours until Monday. Then it changes to Awaiting QC. If I upload a very small batch of four photos they seem to go straight to Awaiting QC much faster.

If they added something that says how long for QC I haven't seen it yet.

Let me quote Alamy:

I would also like to be clear that the message refers to the stage in our workfow where we are processing the images, this means we are creating the different file sizes and moving the images to the QC stage.

The average turnaround for QC last week was 29 hours, so hopefully you can see that the urban myth that we have issues with a plague sweeping through the QC team, is thankfully not the case.

According to your experience, what is the usual review time after images are at QC stage?

It is my first time submitting there after the initial 4 images, and those very fast.

Between 2 and 4 days, sometimes less, sometimes more, but never too long... Wink

Normally reasonably fast. Even before this time frame estimate, Alamy has been very quick for me. Excellent communication and truly exemplary. I only need my first  sale to complete this top-notch recommendation for Alamy  Wink

Yes, it should be reviewed soon. My latest upload was on the 17th, and it was approved yesterday, and  live early this morning. Fast, considering it being a weekend.

2-4 days for QC, which is not done on weekends. Weekend appears to start around Noon on Friday.  Grin

Processing appears to be going on, independent of QC now. Before you could upload on a Thursday and if they didn't get processed, forget about it until Monday. Now it looks like the server guys (some people say in India?) are working around the clock.

There was a sticky period around Jan 3rd-6th where files uploaded after those dates, were going through processing and being approved, while the first ones, were still marked "awaiting processing" Looks like they got that unplugged last week.

After you make files "ready" it's another day or for me two before they show as being for sale. Don't forget that.

On average, from upload to on sale, takes a week total.
