A couple interesting points...

I have heard people say that 'alamy is starting to stiffen up on their reviews' etc etc .. 'they are not that easy to get in to' ... i roll my eyes, especially coming from people who poo poo microstock and the low quality of images on them.  They say in the video quite openly that there is NOT quality controll on Alamy, it is an OPEN database.  They check the images but not for sale quality... just that they are not 'damaged' images

Also, the founder owner guy said as the one tip to photographers - to not put all your eggs in one basket.  To check out the market and put your images in different types of sales avenues and strategies........   interesting..... :)

Thanks for posting that link leaf.

The CEO seems an open and honest person.  My ears pricked up when he talked about 'pressure on pricing' and then went on to suggest that photographers shouldn't have all their eggs in one basket.  Combined, these comments suggest to me a real concern at Alamy that they will be unable to sustain the present high pricing, and photographers should diversify elsewhere before they get a nasty surprise.

It seems to me that microstock prices are rising and traditional pricing is falling; presumably one day they'll meet in the middle, certainly for RF.  Alamy's biggest market is editorial, and I think we are already starting to see competition hot up in that area.

I wasn't know Photographytv. Thanks for the link. Do they have other videos I didn't see any?
