Very interesting article, from many perspectives.

Including the gross distortion of how iStock works.

EDIT to add: and probably an equally gross distortion of Alamy's plans.

I don't even know where he gets his figures.  It's $25 on IS, max.

Nothing new in the article. He does mention the 'no advertising' clause with Premium, but plays it down. That is a huge difference between premium and micro. End of.

That $430 had me stumped, because where's the 15% of that, which would be = $64.50 for someone at minimum like myself, and more for better people.

The author also ignores the intended uses which Mr. West explained very clearly.

1) Some deals are priced at $49, some at $99, some at $199, some in the high thousands.
2) Direct mail, corporate websites, sales giveaways, annual reports, company handbooks

So! Promoting this and our Alamy portfolios to the customers is the best and honest way how to fight against lower and lower commissions on microstock agencies!
You haven't to threaten with deleting portfolio, or  with mass campaign on forums...
Just promote better deal for you!!!

All RF licences on Alamy are ELs or very similar to that...

AND their rights of usage are far more wide than a normal EL at a microstock agency.
