Looking for a way to easily calculate my net earnings for Alamy.  The info in "my alamy" is gross and I really want to only see net earnings, without having to go into the balance report that shows credits and debits.

I just went from 150 images on Alamy to 3000+ and I'm looking to hit 10,000 by the end of the year (now that I'm uploading my RF collection there as well).  Thanks for the help!

As far as I know, that's the only way.
(I'll be interested to know if there's an easier way.)

You would think that there would be something simpler for contributors to view their earnings, but I don't know of anything either.

I'd like to see my earnings on each sale with a mark showing if the amount is cleared or not and the date on which the money was earned. Total that by month/year/date range.

Having additional reports with the total amount of the sale, royalty rate, distributor mega rate (if you are still opted in to that) with a running balance is fine as an additional report - with the download date as well as the sale date and cleared balance date if they'd like to be truly transparent.

Look at the View Your Account Balance Tab. Still a little convoluted, but shows their commission(s) and the balance.

On your My Alamy page, just above the chart, is a button for "Build a downloadable sales report". In there are options for table setup as well as to download it as a CSV file for local use. You want to include "Net Due" in your data. With a downloaded CSV file you can then alter and create your own Excel or equivalent charting system.

I'm a bit confused between those three numbers of sales $ As i understood, the current balance is what I earned and the * 5 sales to date is the total earned by sales. What is the % of earning to the contributor ? it's not clear. Thank you

50% for sales through Alamy:

30% for optional sales via distributors:

For your individual sales, click on 'View your sales history' from your My Alamy page.

Thank you, I'm french that's why sometimes I struggle with english financial terms. But if it's 50 and 30%, I should have more than 56$ in my balance

56.4/188 = 30%. Maybe they just don't show the cents and only whole dollar amounts?

The balance is only how much is currently 'live' in your balance.
So for example, if you've already had a payout, the balance reverts to zero and builds up again.
And remember that it's not like micro where buyers have to pay in advance - Alamy buyers normally have an account with Alamy and pay periodically, so you seldom get your payment when you get notice of sales. However, after about six months, you can 'nudge' Member Services, if the sale hasn't been cleared - you can check that in 'view your account balance' under the chart on your My Alamy page.

Also for future reference, refunds are not uncommon, either before you get paid or even some time after you were paid (so you go into the red [=debit]). Sometimes the files might be repurchased at a lower price (because they negotiated a bulk price after buying yours, for example) or even repurchased on the same date as the refund at the same price (which I don't even pretend to understand, but I had one last week. Screenshot with irrelevant material removed for simplicity:

Another, more disappointing one I had a few months back was two refunds, one repurchased at a lower price. Looking at the Details, it seemed like there was a magazine article which was going to use two of my images, one at full page size, one at 1/4 page. The article wasn't published that month, but was used the following month, with only one pic, used 1/2 page.

No problem, but I forgot to tell you the really confusing thing:
If you get a file bought, refunded, then rebought, that counts as 2 sales, even though there was only one payment. I keep forgetting that then waste time trying to reconicle figures.  ::) :-[

This is what I use. Kind of a pain but it is useful.

Hey Josh,

You're pushing things a little (too) tight on your similars on one agency at RF and another at RM

You'd be safer waiting till Alamy have an RF editorial category (which might be later this year) and keeping everything RF.
Just my opinion.
