Hello, I just made a new sale on Alamy. The buyer paid a whopping $1.25. Is that even possible? I hardly ever make a sale on Alamy. For that money it's not worth uploading and all that time consuming tagging.

Of course it is possible and we will see more and more lower sales like this in the future. Look at the $.02 images sales on iStock plus 4K videos going for $.75 there!  >:(

You could always contact Alamy contributor services to find out why. Most likely its a distributor sale.

It's still better than 25 cents and you often get higher values.  I had a net sale of $400 just yesterday.

As to tagging well every image should be keyworded before uploading it saves a lot of time

True, lower sales numbers and lower commissions at Alamy. Also the worst ever was a distributor sale. Yes, they still beat many others like StinkySocks and flat rate subs.

Most recent low sale - China Editorial Website, Bulk discount, Flat rate per image - $3.96 which is still better than most subs and many ODs?

Another - Usage: Personal use Media: Non-commercial, one time, personal/home use - 2018-2023 by the way, $ 19.99

At least we know, going in that there will be distribution sales for low numbers and decent sales for better than Micro values. 100,000 new images a day is what they say.

Yes, perfectly possible with NU, distributor, bulk discount sales.
You can opt out of NU and distributor sales, but I think only in April.
Micro 'queered the pitch'.

Ive had some very low sales recently, although none below $2, but also very often they are nicely offset by $10, $50 or more sales, so in the end Alamy is one of the best agencies I think, and as long as they continue to be fair with contributors, I will be happy to continue uploading there.

Yes, that sounds like a Novelty use sale, if you have opted in?  You can opt out in April (I have opted out). My lowest sales on Alamy have been around $ 3-4. But usually nicely between $ 30-80. Alamy is a good contributor friendly agency. If in doubt, you can always email them and ask. You'll get a personal reply, not a robotic response...

Alamy has some of the biggest range of license prices I've ever heard of...

I've read about both 50cent net licenses ---> $1200 net and everything in between.

Honestly I thought they discontinued Novel Use a couple years ago.

They said the were going to, but now they have a new interpretation of NU.
But in fact, there are other, bulk discounted rates which are in the same pricing ballpark.

Ah I see. Yes I have had limited use, partner, newspapers in Romania or China, really low ball commissions. So if they rename it, and NU is no longer, that's the same deal with a new spin. Of course... Or as they say, smoke and mirrors.  :)

Check the Alamy forum there are quite a few who earn more than a few thousand dollars

You just will not do it with the krap that gets thrown at microstock sites though

To put it in to context I had a sale on 123rf this morning for 15 cents :(

Averaged $16 per download in 2018, that's less than money for the same number of downloads in the past. Many were RF Editorial. Lowest was a partner to China for $3.96 commission.

There are a wide variety of sales prices on Alamy. These are my latest - nothing big so far this month, but well worth having.
