A sale on Monday.  Refunded on Tuesday.

and this is typical for you? I have never had a single image refunded at Alamy since 2007 (fingers crossed).

Not really typical, but out of my small number of sales to date I think 3 have been refunded.  It just seems pointless to show something as a "sale" if the customer stlll hasn't decided to pay.

I hope this doesn't mean that some new policy is in effect, making it even easier to use our work "temporarily" - in presentations, mockups, speculative projects - without actually paying for it.

I used to get a few refunds, it has not happened in the last couple of years.

Only ever had one refund.  This is far from "typical" and I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often, if we're talking about microstock images that can be much cheaper on other sites.

I haven't had a refund, but I do have a sale from February 1st that still hasn't cleared - very annoying.  Allowing time to pay is one thing, but 9 months seems like more than long enough.  Hope it doesn't get refunded...

Just had a sale on the 6th, refunded on the 7th. Haven't had that before. Perhaps CC fraud, if it's happened to a few of us?

Hmmm it does seem like a bunch of us had a sale on the 6th refunded on the 7th.  I'm a small fish and don't get a sale very often which makes it even more suspicious.  My sale was for a very low price - $7.87.   What about you other people?

7.87 - exactly the same. Something definitely went down. If it was CC fraud at least they were quick about correcting it.

Ok this is getting weirder....

The exact same file was just bought for the exact same amount - 7.87 again. Bought on the same day as the refund for it, just a few hours apart.

Anyone else? Now I'm lost as to how to explain this one...

I'm due my first payout at Alamy but the money seems to already be deducted from my account. Do they send the money automatically once you reach payout like SS do?

I've read about this scenario a few times in the past in the Alamy forum, but can't remember the explanation. Sometimes the amount changes by a few cents, literally, in either direction.

Officially on the 1st of the month (or first working day of the month) after you reach the threshold. In practice, sometimes a few days after. But yes, it is automatic.

Thank you, that's a relief.  I was worrying that my account had been hacked somehow.
I'm loving alamy.  25$ rpd for my commissions.   Wish I'd started uploading to them years ago.

Same thing just happened to me. Same file, bought again for 7.87.    One does get the feeling that things are out of control.

Same here. Even the price is the same: $7.87. As long as they buy it again... it's fine.

My $7.87 wasn't repurchased but I managed to get two new sales today, one for $100 and one for $160, both non distributor so I get to keep my 60%.
