I recommend that you don't mix license types. i.e. if you have something for sale as RF on one site do not sell it under a RM license on Alamy.

Thank you RT for good information!

Also, can you explain to us from your experience, why not to mix license types, they are all non-exclusive ?
If you have sold an image even once as RF, you have no control over what it can be used for (aside from prohibited uses). Therefore that image would not be able to be sold with the more lucrative rights managed licence for exclusive use in a particular sector, geographical area or time span, as you can't guarantee the use of the RF purchaser. So for example, not knowing what the RF user was going to use the image for, you couldn't guarantee that someone could have e.g. exclusive use of an image on a calendar front in the US and Canada for the year 2011. If the RM was just a purchase to use the image with no exclusivity requested, it wouldn't be so much of an issue. Some RM companies won't allow it in any case.

PS.: english is my second language

Your English is just fine, monica !  I am a firm believer in the concept that  'there is no such thing as a stupid question'.   You just keep asking, for the most part the folks here on MSG are friendly and helpful. Cool=tom

p.s.  In the military I was a linguist.  Spoke fluent Russian, Italian, Spanish, International Morse code and had a working knowledge (common conversation) of Greek,  German, Hindi & American Sign Language.   Today, I wouldn't dream of trying to hold a conversation on any other language site. Good for you!!

если вы не используете его, вы его потеряете !!!!   Can't say that I agree completely...as most is forgotten... working 36 years as a training manager for McDonald's Corp,  I haven't had a lot of opportunity to use my Russian, German or Italian... ha ha ha... although I do use my Spanish alot... ha ha ha.  Honestly, I have forgotten so much, it's sad.
Languages I was required to learn like my prime language, I still retain to a great degree. This is because I learned it as an extension of my English vocabulary so that you 'thought' in the language rather than translated it as you went.  Russian I was required to speak with zero American accent. I had to have a Moscovite accent pure and true.
I have to say,  they still do come in handy in the movie theater when I have to translate stuff with no subtitles for my family..ha ha ha ha.

Uncle Gene,  you wouldn't by any chance be an old military linguist, would you? (Or more likely an average European that can speak a dozen languages easily...LOL)

Cool=dah, dah dah dah, dah dah ( dash     dash-dash-dash   dash-dash)

Ok!
One more explanation and I am done... Wink

My conclusion is that isn't recommended to upload same image on both licenses (RF and RM), because buyer can demand history and type of usage before, what is practically impossible, at RF...

But what is with micro RF and Alamy RF... ?
Is it OK to upload on both sides (micro RF and Alamy RF), we know that is big difference in pricing between...!?

P.S.

Whether customers at Alamy RF have a greater range of usage of the image, which may be the reason for the difference in price... ?
I found some explanation on this link, but what is your experience?

As long as you play by the rules, it's ok. Is it allowed to upload to Alamy and to microstock at the same time? Yes, it is. I have good sales at Alamy, but you can't know until you upload for yourself. Give it a try!

Borg, there are no restrictions regarding Alamy, as far as I know, but personally I prefer to have separate portfolios in macro and micro.

Hi Borg,

RF is RF. (just different license agreement). Yes you can upload "microstock images" to Alamy. I actually just sold an image (a couple of days ago) RF for $245. They don't come every day but when they do, it is nice to see it. (my cut was $147).

All the best
