I was really excited to login to Alamy today and see I have finally had enough sales to pass the payout threshold of $250 thanks to a sale on Jan 30 putting me over the top.

But it says the funds from my sales in January are uncleared - even one on Jan 02 - so I am not due any payment yet?

How long does it usually take payments to clear?  Seems like an eternity to reach payout amount and now that I have I am still not due to be paid???

I'm actually wondering the same thing i had another sale last week that pushed me over the threshold too. My last sale took a month to clear so i figure sometime mid march but thats only a guess.

Thanks for responding, Charles.  Smiley

Glad to know it's not just me with the sloooooow clearing of funds.  I am delighted to make sales on Alamy because the individual numbers are higher, but so far there are so few it will take me forever to reach payouts, and even longer if they take over a month to clear!  Undecided

I have a sale from 16th December that hasn't cleared yet.  My previous ones have taken a month to 6 weeks.  There are some stories of very long waits in the forum.  Even worse than that, some sales get refunded after several weeks, if the buyer doesn't use the photo.  From what I have read, this is quite common for the more traditional sites, we are lucky to get paid so quickly with the micros.

I still like alamy and I still can't bring myself to upload my microstock photos there.  Sold 4 photos so far but they were all ones that wouldn't make much on the micros and I have only uploaded 200.  My zooms have increased lately and that will hopefully lead to more sales.

It cleared today, so that is about 8 weeks.

Glad yours finally cleared sharpshot.

I got a reply from their customer service stating that it can take anywhere from 6 weeks to several months for a payment to clear, as it has to clear the customer's bank.

Seems crazy in this day and age, but whatever.  I am glad I have sales there at all.

And I am REALLY glad most of my income comes from microstock.  Soooo much nicer to get paid in a timely way Smiley

It can take a long time for some sales to clear, especially when it's a distributor sale. A Couple of days ago I had a sale from august 2008 cleared. That was a distributor sale in Greece.

I just got accepted onto alamy woooooooooooo what are the sales like there? ive heard not that often if ever

It all depends how good/needed your images are and how accurate your keywords are. Remember, this is not microstock, keyword spammers get punished by Alamy Rank.

Hi I am an Alamy contributor and I just wanted to say that Alamy are not slow to pay. They pay every month once you have sold and cleared $250. They do not use a system of pre-paid credits for downloads like the micros so they obviously have to get the money in before they can pay it out.

If you make regular sales at Alamy (by transferring your best images over them to them Wink) you will receive regular payments.

This is what I have earned in the last few months from approx 6000 images (money in the bank):

1 Sept 2008: $3,685.86
1 Oct 2008:  $4,931.22
1 Nov 2008:  $5,192.69
1 Dec 2008:  $5,101.90
1 Jan 2009:  $3,597.40
1 Feb 2009:  $4,494.17
2 Mar 2009:  $4,138.79
1 April 2009: $3,827.31

Congrats!  Those are some big numbers!

I finally had $400 clear so my first scheduled payout was April 1.  I am eagerly awaiting my first check.

BTW, by slow to pay out I didn't mean they don't pay you once you have the funds cleared.  Just that it is a different experience from the micros having to wait up to a couple of months to have funds released.
