It's been a bit low in terms of revenue per sale but still getting sales

Like every agency, Alamy has its own strengths. I have a lot of travel imagery and it is one of my most important sellers. Number two after Shutterstock in terms of revenue.

That's an excellent record for Alamy!

I'm chugging along as usual, some droughts then it tends to make up towards the end of the month. On a par with last year, so far.

This year, 8 sales for me for $110 gross on 6,000 images.

What else to do but to keep uploading quality and tagging in the "Alamy method"?

Here's a link to my port on there...

I'm getting an average number of sales there, but for very small amounts. Still, it wouldn't take many decent sales to get things back on track. Luck of the draw, I suppose.

Alamy has added the cap just like IS and SS and the rest. They all started taking anything and now they are all putting income caps on us.

I'd imagine your SS sales pay you much less, but maybe not, I haven't heard of anyone selling vectors on Alamy, and only recently discovered it could be done.
9 months/200 files on SS is poor, if what I've read here on msg is anything to go by, though  you have come very late to the party. The glory days are well gone.

Are they the same files? Why would someone pay more to buy something on Alamy than they do on SS (I know, the buyers aren't always the same, not everyone needs a bulk subscription, but still ... I know personally of several publications which use both SS and Alamy images - I'm pretty certain they source everything they can cheaply and only use Alamy for what they can't get on SS.

About 20 sales in 2018, from an Alamy port made of under 900 photos. Last sale from March 11th. Not very impressive, when compared with other agencies.

Update: last sale from today, 03/20

Update 2: one more for today.

Update 3: 4 more sales since last update

I'm getting about 4-6 DL a month averaging a total of $150 before my cut.  Nothing special and I usually have Alamy and 123 on my 'll upload when I have time for a 6-pak and it's raining out:)

Well, no real difference with before: still around one to two sales per month. Definitely not the best performing, but it still generates a pretty regular income, plus my name on pictures on pretty big media (I got several BBC and Telegraph). it's not money, but it's still good to put it in my portfolio when I need to shoz my work to non connoiseurs.

I got one sale with my cut $0,71.

Overall, 7 sales this year, $114 gross, about 1250 images.

Alamy is hard and requires a lot of work and knowledge on its workings. Plus, the time of big sales has passed. Long gone are the days of multiple $200+ per month.

This month I'm close to 20 sales on alamy but only 50% of SS income.

Only three sales from the beginning of the year, all three for a ridiculous "microstockish" amount of money

I have to admit I'm surprised by some of the RPDs that some of us get it. Apart from one sale through one of their partners websites (that got me $2.5), I never got a cut below $5 on Alamy. Even though the sales are more than rare, it makes Alamy one of my highest RPI.

As previously said, I guess it comes from the specificities of Alamy, given that I sold only journalistic photos on this channel.

The low values are generally from the UKNS and some sales in the distribution scheme  (in my case, to an Italian newspaper) where you get 30%
Both are opt-outable,  but if selling RM, repeat sales can (sometimes) make up for individual low numbers.
Clearly, Alamy is having difficulty keeping prices up in competition with the Micros.  We can't have it both ways!

IMO, it seems like competition vs. competition. Alamy is clearly having issues with SS and SS like micros, but Alamy is clearly a huge competition to the traditional stock websites like Getty. In the end, it's all good for me, as I can't be exclusive on most of my covers (as I'm frequently as well reporting for a newspaper), but I guess Alamy's management must be strongly thinking about solutions... at least I hope!
