Perhaps "I'm not taking them down"?  They're still there.

Well i don't think this is about hate most people here adore Yuri.
But his behaviour on this issue is simply not right and it damages the reputation of Alamy and of the whole photostock business.

Yuri's work does confuse the issue, doesn't it?
we know how many photographers copy him, idolize him, and produce clones of his work.
to newbies that could also be either a good model, or utter suicide. what i mean is, why would i buy a fake rolex when the real rolex is for sale here at the same price?
then again, newbies can be led to do the same thing for licensing as well, thinking, hey Yuri does it,
so i guess it's ok.

it would be good for all , if someone with licensing authority (from a site or from the stock photography business) to come right out to say, "OK, this is fine!" , or "No, you can't do that".
so we all know if it's right or wrong.  now it's all a grey area... hmm   Huh Huh Huh

Oh NO their are a couple Yuri haters here. The majority of people here appreciate his driving force in this emerging business but there are a couple of straight out Yuri haters on this board. I account it to feeling threatened by someone who has done much better than everyone else. The microscope is always on him because of a few threatened individuals. If we all had everyone following every mistake we made in the industry and publicized it we would all look bad at some point. This to me is similar to tabloid stuff. Some people wait and even enjoy to see the big guys fall. It has always been that way in our society. Those are the people I am referring to. This board is mainly made up of very good people.

Best,

good point AVAVA, but envy is a doubled edge sword.
wiping out the competition perharps, but it does not make them better or as good as Yuri.   it's just bad karma.

I don't think most of us need to be told whether this is right or wrong.  Didn't Yuri already acknowledge it's a mistake?

I don't know what the necessary hoops are for getting his subcontractor to take down those images, but surely it must be in the works?

Maybe I'm not reading the right threads, but I don't perceive much hatred of Yuri around here.  He has become a celebrity in this industry, and attracts the same kind of interest that keeps people following the actions of Brangelina, TomKat, etc Wink

(not throwing stones BTW - I love my US magazine!)

ROFL - That is f'in classic.. Don't hate tha playa, hate tha game YO!

Yuri didn't do it, someone else did and I'm sure he's trying to get it dealt with but he probably has to deal with the distributor and not Alamy or both maybe.. Kinda dramatic to make such a stink about something that was already addressed as a screw up! I mean when you roll out 10k some odd images through yourself and however many distributors and do it without a hiccup you'll be "the sh$%" for sure!

Hi. Please read the response I have on Microstockdiaries about this.

"One of my third party distributors has put all my images in Alamy under RM. We are currently investigating this and I will require the images removed immediately. We are in the black as to why this agency has done so, especially when considering that just one single search on my name on Alamy would reveal that all the images are already online. I will be contacting Alamy about this also"

Thanks. Yuri

"immediately"

So, is the delay on Alamy's side 16 days later?  They seem to be somewhat unresponsive at times.  Have you sold any of these images RM since they were put up?
