Three sales so far at Albumo and several more for my referrals, not too bad for a site that is only a few months on line.  Grin SY

A grand total of 2 sales so far - I think the marketing push hasn't started yet.

My benchmark for this is Fotolia, which managed to start generating a sale a day (for me) just as soon as they started marketing the site; things later ramped up to a decent volume (if you don't count the V2 snafu). Compared to Fotolia, albumo is off to a very slow start, but perhaps it's even harder now given the competition?

This was in an email they sent me after I joined "Albumo will start a  massive advertisement campaign after our photo stock reaches a mark  of at least 200,000 images"

I am very disappointed that the promised massive advertisement campaign  hasn't happened.  Don't know why they would pay us to upload and then not promote the site.  Perhaps it will happen next year but it seems they have missed an opportunity this year.

After a couple of months or so and about 1200 accepted images, I have had one sale so far.

It would appear they are currently offline due to "system upgrade and server relocation"

The pricing structure suggests to me that buyers are getting a bargain

The site is down. Not good.

System upgrade and server relocation? Yea, right... Most companies post a notice in advance that the site is going to be down. And then do the work during low traffic time or weekends.

The site went down, was down for quite a while, and then they posted the system upgrade and server relocation message. C'mon.

What it should say is something like "Our single server with one hard drive failed and we're scrambling to order new parts and then perform a full backup. We expect this to take about 24 hours but who knows."

Their FPT server is still working so it's not quite that bad. However, like LO, I would rather they put their money into marketing rather than hardware upgrades.

At 911 images I began to get rejections and shortly thereafter they stopped the 100 club. I wrote support about this but got no answer. You don't go from total image acceptance to total rejection and I am pissed about it. If I read the TOS correctly they can keep my files for 400 days. I haven't read it lately but it seems it was something like this. I'm not bothered by this if they do the marketing and I see some profit but right now it looks like they won't have to pay the $25 bait money.

The only reason I'm bothered by them keeping my files is the way things are going on all the sites I am more and more enticed by exclusivity.

Been at Albumo since the start. One sale so far. Not good enough. I've stopped uploading, but will keep my portfolio there for another 6 months to see if anything is happening.

From Albumo's upload agreement...

Member also forfeits the right to remove submitted and approved for sale Content for 400 days since the date of initial upload.  Albumo.com has sole right to remove such content if necessary.  After 400 days has passed, member can remove the Content at any time for any reason at all by request to our Support.

I don't have images at albumo so this is just an 'aside'

it will be interesting to see if albumo or snapvillage or any of the others, slowly climb their way up the rating board on the right..... I wonder what 2008 will bring.

Having my photos there doesn't hurt, so I don't really care, but I'm afraid they are dead in the water. No sales and a completely uninspiring website. Lucky Oliver is at least interesting to look at, although the sales aren't much better.

Anyone think Albumo could be doing with a forum?

I wonder what their plan is. Let's see. They spent a ton of money paying photographers to submit images and I haven't seen any evidence of them spening money on trying to attract buyers. They've sent a couple of email newsletters which costs nothing and may only be reaching their existing database of people who already know who they are.

Are they trying the organic growth approach? Or build a foundation and sell it?

Have sent them 3 emails but no answer for last 6 weeks!!!

No sales for me or any referrals for months. Stopped uploading end of the year.

I ddin't consider them a waste of time as they paid me almost $250 to upload, but I won't do anything else until I see some activity.

I've only sold 2 at Mostphotos, but at 12.5 Euros, I will be sticking around.

Been there for right at a month now. Had three sales almost as soon as I started uploading, then bang - nothing since, and next to no views either. And my acceptance rate went from 100% (awfully high since I even submitted some crap photos) to about 15% (about 1/3 my acceptance at DT). If they are to survive, they will have to find some consistency or they will end up driving away contributors and, thusly, buyers.

I've also noticed batch acceptance/rejection. They either accept every photo in a batch or reject all the photos in a batch so I've started submitting in smaller batches of 5-10 images.

These reviewers are harder to figure out than those at FT, IMHO.

Been there since just about the beginning.  I've had one image with over 1400 views - no downloads.  The rest have very few views and no downloads.  Have Quit uploading to Albumo and will pull my images.  To me it was a waste of time.

None for me. There's some sales but the most downloaded top five have 51, 51, 4, 4, 3 downloads. http://www.albumo.com/most-downloaded-sale

From my post above from five months ago, not much has changed. Their top downloaded image is now at 53. That's two more sales in five months. Something very fishy here.

I had my first sale last week, an EL for a massive $6!

I stopped submitting there a few months ago and not even an EL motivates me to resume uploading.
