I've made twice as much in BigStock compared to 123RF.  I average about US$5 a month in 123RF whereas in BigStock I've been making from US$7 to 18 a month.  Not huge money anyway, but welcome.  And BigStock's minimum payouts are smaller.

Regards,
Adelaide

I do much better at BigStock.  They actually do as well (if not better) than Fotolia most of the time.

I do much better with bigstock but the last month hasn't been great.  Might just be the summer slow down.

I do better at 123 than BigStock.  Not a huge amount of DL's, but constant.  Had first EL at 123 this month also.

BS has started selling much more regular for me, while 123 is still at the bottom of my list (I'm almost at payout after nearly a year and that is with their lowered payout limit!).
On the subject of Bigstock, anyone have an educated guess as to why their reviews are taking so long??

123RF is better for me. As we can see, the experience varies for each person ;)

Big is less consistent for me. Still the $30 payout is nice.

cheers.

BigStock I guess they let some of their reviewers have some holidays,

8 or 9 days to review

I hope thats the reason as they use to be slow a few months ago.

Am I the only one who can't log in to BigStock? screen loads OK but after entering details it just reloads same page

BigStock has made 4x as much as 123RF for me so far. (same portfolio and start date pretty much)

Fintastic - I can log in to BigStock no problem

I do not understand why Bigstock or 123rf should be called big by looking at their sales for me. Both earn me about a fifth of the last "big" of the Big Five. But as a German I do see Big 6, if I include Panthermedia (A microstock site in German). It looks like they will make it to the 4th place for me this month.

For me, BigStock's performance is abysmal - I earn as much in ONE DAY at SS and IS than I do in AN ENTIRE MONTH at BigStock.  That's a shockingly atrocious perfromance by an agency that claims to be in the 'big five'.

Having said that, perhaps they were waiting to pass the 1 million decisively before upping any marketing spend; they have announced refinements to the search engine, and hopefully they will now invest some serious money in promoting their product to potential customers.

I agree with Jan in that number of images is misleading; sales count; marketing and promotional spend count.

I'll give them a year but if they show no progress in that time I'll withdraw my product from their shelves.

For me 123RF has been the lowest earner every month since I started uploading to them In Feb of this year. BigStock although well behind IS & SS is generally fighting for 3rd place with DT, and outperforming Fotolia & Stockxpert.

It does help that rejections at BigStock are very infrequent, so they do have my biggest portfolio.

Well, with over 1600 photos on both I can tell you that for a while both BS and 123RF were head to head. But for the last 3 months or so 123RF has blown BS out of the water! I now make double the income on 123RF than on BS.  ::)   :o

Just got an EL at 123rf (here my referral link for the ones who want to join) and earned $36.75 for one image, that is the highest amount I got ever for a single sale, here the image:

Maybe we should start using this forum for all 123rf related posts and maybe they'll swap it around with the BS one :)

I have more sales at BigStock, but it is much easier to upload to 123rf.  On a side note, I requested payment from 7 sites on Aug. 1.  Six of them have been processed.  Still waiting on 123rf.  BigStock processed same day.  I was surprised.

So far this year I am making  22 times more $$ on BigStock than on 123rf.   Out of 9 sites, 123rf is next to last in sales for me.  I have sold more pix in one day on SS than I have all year on 123rf.   Essentially the same pix on BigStock, SS, 123rf.
I like BigStock and the couple times I've had a problem, the folks there fixed me up in less than 24 hours! And... my highest acceptance percentage is at BigStock, 96.2%.  Pix that others reject, I sell at BigStock for a buck a pop. You can't beat that.    I'm liking BigStock alot.    Nice Folks!!!   8)-tom

123 pays automatically around the 15th of the month after the month in which you reached the payout minimum, so if you reached payout by 31 July then you should get paid around 15 Aug.  You don't have to request payment & requesting it won't speed up the process. But make sure your account profile states what payment method you want, because cheque payment is minimum $200 and doesn't go out until the end of the payment month (Paypal is $50 and I think Moneybookers is $100 and both go out mid-month).

I realize it goes out automatically.  I just wish it was processed faster than the middle of the month.  The other sites processed in a few days.

I would be more inclined to use BigStock if they had a better website and processing of uploaded images. I rank Bigstock as the white elephant of microstock in terms of ease of use from the POV of a contributor. Sure iStock is a bit of a pain also but at least they have good stream of sales to offset the inconveniences.

At BigStock, I did 45 times less last month than in April, where I had no special license sale. Why ? I have no explanation... For me, the site is just dead now, whereas I upload regularly. Their upload process is too boring. I think I will give up.
At 123rf, sales are regular for me and are growing, upload process is pleasant.

I agree, 123rf has to have the best system in terms of image processing and model release management

I just joined BigStock and 123 RF about a month ago and so far made twice more money with 123RF.
I am a bit bothered by some BigStock rejections as well which did not make sense. You can see some example on my blog : http://microstockexperiment.blogspot.com/

Ciao ;)
