From the Zazzle blog it looks like Zazzle made a deal with Bigstock.

How much does a contributor get for each sale?

Please someone tell me this isn't another Google Drive type of deal.

Wow. The uses granted to Zazzle (putting photos on a product) equate to EL sales at some sites, and aren't even allowed at others. It's one thing for me to sell my photography on products at Zazzle. It's quite another for Bigstock to do so.

This is going to get interesting.

If we get paid per sale with a decent slice of commission it won't be too bad, but if they've sold Zazzle the right to endless reproduction of our images for a one-off license fee it is something else entirely.

It's worth noting that Zazzle's prices mean that it will not be mass-producing any products with SS images for resale, the cost is far too high; it is really only good for one-off POD sales.

They said, "With this new partnership, our team has hand-selected a collection of Bigstock images to be featured on Zazzle products, ...", so presumably they have contacted the owners of the selected images and made some sort of deal.  If we haven't heard from them I assume this won't affect us.

You can opt out of all their partner programs.

I don't see a link to the BigStock store on zazzle. Anyone have one? I tried to leave a comment on the blog post quoted in the OP but it didn't work.  ::)

I think that if that is the stuff that sells well over there then it is a little bit scary.

See this thread for their prior Cafe Press deal.

After my 83 cent royalty I opted out of all partner programs - I don't want to compete with myself and certainly not for such low royalties. I'm no longer with BigStock (because they refused to let contributors opt out of subscriptions, and as I wasn't part of the group offered 6 months at 38 cents I walked). If you're at FAA, Zazzle or any of the other sites, letting an agent take a chunk of the earnings when you can upload yourself seems mad - sort of like Alamy letting the distributor keep 40% of a sale...

Why did you find that stuff scary ?

It seems is mostly vector work, and seamless patterns.

Where did you find the option to opt out?  I've been searching but can't seem to find it.

Go to 'Upload Images' and then on the menu on LHS, just click on the 'Upload' option above 'Upload Images'. This takes you to the Upload homepage where you can tick to opt-out of Partner sales

Had  a  big  sale  from  a  partner  site  on  7/12.  Now  i  wonder  if  it  was  from  Zazzle?  6  sales   there  this  month  for  a  site  that  has  gotten  better  month  after  month.  Goal  to  get  one  a  day  in  Aug.  Then  start  talking  2  or  more  a  day  by  end  of  year.
