Rather than add this comment to one of the existing positive threads ("Increase in BigStock ...", "Rise of BigStock"), I thought it more appropriate to create a new one.

I just checked to see how BigStock fared for me in April. After a decent March (for BigStock), downloads dropped 50%, and revenues an amazing 2/3. It was my worst month there since December 2007 (when my portfolio was roughly 10% of its current size).

RPD dropped to $0.65, which is down 40% from my average of $1.08, and the lowest I've seen since my second month there (when I had TWO sales!), Feb, 2007.

Is this an anomaly, or is BigStock dying?

For BigStock this April was the best month earnings in about a year! I think BigStock is not only coming back, the upswing in sales for me has been rapid over the last few months.

Not dead yet! Still kicking and getting stronger day by day. However I do hope you quit uploading there .... less competition for me. Grin

Hey Larry,
That is not fair.

@ KB
Yeah, BigStock is down about 15% for me too.

It was worse than March, but March and April were very good months there compared to the twelve months before.

I don't know if it's fair or not, but I'm sure it is true. We are all each other's competition, whether we like it or not.  Grin

Down 15% is bad. Down 50% (and a 2/3 revenue drop) is awful.

I just finished my overall April tally, and it was pretty disastrous across the board. Every agency was down month over month, and all but FT was down year over year. None as bad as BigStock, but it does seem to indicate that the problem is more my portfolio than BigStock.  Sad

Judging by my own portfolio, BigStock was slowly dying for awhile there, but March and April were both pretty good for this time of year. I'm hopeful about them making a comeback. BigStock is a good agency that always treated me fairly, and I'd hate to see them die.

I think theyre all slowing down, all their searches are getting worse and worse, too many contributors, lots of pie-in-the-sky, lots of clap-trap talks and no action.

Micro might be dying? buyers have had it with us. Maybe its time to consider placing everything in a Trad-agency, RM, Macro?, etc and no more hassle and days on end in front of computors.

Not quite dead.  I finally reached a payout.  It took just over 22 months.   Roll Eyes

This $3 sale took me to $50.50.  Now, just wait the seven days for the sale to clear.  Seven days is nothing after a long, very disappointing, nearly two years.

Long live Big Stock.   Grin

Bigstock has always been a steady site for me. It earns me about as much as Istock, but way behind Shutterstock and Fotolia. I get regular (but not spectacular) sales there. May was the best month for ages.

It went right down from Nov - March but the last couple of months it is back to normal. Still only accounts for very small % of total earnings.

BigStock slowed down for me along 2009 and early this year, but has recovered in the past months.

It's getting better. No idea what the reason was for the slowdown the last 9 months.
