Bigstock is now requiring at least 7 words in descriptions. DT went to 5 words not that long a go. Got into a discussion there on redundancy. Have to change my description from 'A duck' to 'This is a picture of a * duck'

That is silly.  I agree that some pictures require a good long explanation but others of simple objects obviously don't.  It just seems silly to me.  If the description isn't that great it is just going to hurt the photographer because he will sell less.

On DT there was discussions re the 5 word minimum.  If someone had discription of "brick wall" and that is the keywords that are searched, it will show up higher than other images with the new 5 word minimum due to the way their best fit works.  In effect, using more desrcription words reduces your relevancy even though they force you to use more.
