I tried to upload 10 photos today via their online uploading. They went through ok, but the thumbnails never showed up. I refreshed, I logged out and in again, I re-uploaded, no luck. Can't push them through unless they have a thumbnail.

I sure hope the site isn't on its last legs.  :(

Any ideas?

It has happened to me before...I got tired of waiting and reup'd.  Then I had duplicates.  I think it must just get really slow sometimes.

camera shy...thanks. I'll just let it sit for awhile then. I emailed support, but they won't answer until Mon. am, I'm sure.

I've got a problem uploading to BigStock too __ they just don't sell enough or pay enough to make it worth the time to do so.

Must be that something has angered the photo gods ...
123rf - login problems
bigstock - upload problems
cutcaster - upload problems
dreamstime - stats update problems
StockXpert ... Ahhhhh... that's what pissed off the photo gods.   :'( ;D

OK, so it's not just me. I looked on their forums for a thread...no one else has reported any problems. I've been gone a couple of hours now and the thumbs still aren't showing up. This doesn't sound good...nobody around to fix the uploading means they don't care if they get any new photos? Deja vu.

So glad you summarized this Warren.  I had been wondering what was up at DT.  Hoped it was just a site problem and not my images falling off the face of the Earth :)

Did you ever get the thumbnails to come up? I got the same problem today. I uploaded about three hours ago and still no thumbnail, it just says "image being generated" where the thumbnail should be. Never run into that problem before. Maybe they are getting plastered with all the uploads that Fotolia isn't getting...lol

UPDATE; they must of heard me complaining because they just suddenly appeared!!!

My new ones have fallen off the face of the earth. More than 14hrs after approval (under review for 12hrs), they don't show up at my profile page (included # online there) and I can only see them in my management area. Sales are still 2 off on different pages and I didn't have any d/l the past 36 hrs, which in itself is highly unusual. Delays of several kinds run up to 48hrs there.

This morning it is working ok for me. The thumbnail of the one I uploaded yesterday (after cancelling the initial 10 I uploaded) was there and i pushed it through. I uploaded 3 more and they worked ok. They are showing in the Uploaded Image Status area, so I guess they are on their way. Will try some more later.

Me too. I uploaded 25 yesterday to BigStock just fine ftp with filezilla and finally this morning Alamy and their "may encounter uploading problems" I sent in one that's questionable. When I have a file that I wonder about for Alamy I upload it as a single and wait to see if it's going to pass or fail. Haven't had one fail yet, but at least I know it isn't getting in by accident. Also I know I didn't torture myself uploading more, just so I could do it all over again because of one SoLD photo.

Usually BigStock has been one of the more reliable sites for uploading.

I know, I haven't had an issue in about 5 years. That's the scary part.

The biggest issue I have with uploading to BigStock is their ridiculous automated category system, I can't be bothered correcting it anymore I just send it through with whatever stupid category the system selects, I've decided it's uneconomic to spend too much time on uploading to BigStock because the sales don't justify it.

Well that's simple; it's all people>women and places>beaches, even if your title/description/keywords spell loud and clear: man male classroom teacher.  :D

Yes as far as BigStock is concerned men do not exist, and if you take a shot of a woman in the studio don't forget to add loads of outdoor keywords because BigStock consider every woman to be a Landcsape>Mountain.  ::)

I don't know why they don't drop the stupid category thing anyway, because theirs is clearly buggered by now.
