I have a lot pending for review as well. They are either very busy or/and don't have enough reviewers. Or something is wrong.. Anyone else?

Weird, some of my images are reviewed within 24-48 hrs.

They seem to be on a strict schedule.  I have images waiting from several different dates but they are being reviewed from one-day-at-a-time.

Well, their FTP is broken again, so it doesn't really matter.

I had the same problem with FTP yesterday/today.  I uploaded images early yesterday using Filezilla.  They seemed to upload fine and I could see them in the BS FTP file on Filezilla (the right-hand panel labeled "remote site").  This afternoon when I logged on to BS to complete the upload, nothing had come through.  I went back and looked at the FTP file on Filezilla and the images were still there.  They had not moved from the BS receiving file to where they could be edited.  I deleted them from the receiving file (sorry I don't know the proper name for this) and reloaded them manually.  They went through just fine that way.

Boris, pretty much what w7 said. It happened once or twice a week for a couple of months, then it got better for a couple of weeks and now is broken again. Files upload fine to your ftp server, but never get processed through.

Same problem !

Anyway, I will stop to upload on BS.
No sales at all!
Why is BS still active?
99% of buyers took SS.

BS veteterans have fun.
Kind regards.

Thanks, Boris. Meanwhile, do I need to ask every day to get my images pushed through? Or stop uploading until you get this sorted out?

Just uploaded some images about an hour ago via FTP.  They are already in the BS files, have been edited and are now pending review.  Hope it stays this way.  Thanks Boris.

FTP has worked several days in a row, but back to the original topic.
I have a growing number of images I can't submit due to too many in the queue. I have rarely hit the limit in my 6 years here, but now it's a constant thing. Is there an issue with reviewing as well?

I put 35 in the queue on October 1st and they're still pending - I guess reviewing is slow for everyone?

My upload process has been the same for 6 years. They have never been this far behind. Don't really see the point in uploading at this point. Even if they processed everything in the queue tomorrow, I'd still be on a wait to upload.

I contacted support there last week about files that had been pending for over a week and received a reply that they were currently running about 10 days but were trying hard to get that back down to 7 days or less. The October 1st batch did  get processed and I'm now waiting on a batch of 50 from October 15th (as my approval rate is only 91.31% I am limited to 50 at a time).

Sounds like the plan, way back when, to consolidate reviewers and have them all the same staff, same standards, has been accomplished.

i've had 4 reviews in the ast 2 weeks -- each time only 2 images were reviewed, even though i have the max number submitted

emailed support 4 times but no response  - the files just say pending

I have 50 pending from October 24th. In general, the whole batch gets reviewed at once. When I e-mailed support about 3 weeks ago, they said that reviews were out to about 10 days but they were working to get it back to 7 days.

Given the delay, when they told me to categorize a photo of Easter eggs (which were hand painted) as an Illustration, I just did it, although I added to the description that it was a photograph, not an illustration. Things appear to be a bit stalled.

On the good side I've had a good month there for sales :)

Good month here as well; a continuation of last month.  Today's flourish made it BME.

My reveiws, however, are quite different from yours, Jan.  Mine are being reviewed one day at the time.  But, it is taking much longer than a few months past.  At least 7 days.

I am at least 10 days behind in reviews and they are getting reviewed a few images at a time. I typically upload in batches of 10, but recently am getting emails with status of 1-4 images. I upload in batches of 10 for a total of 50-70 a week and currently have 50 awaiting approval and 93 that I can't submit yet.

Thanks, I sent them a note - I'll try live chat tomorrow, although it hasn't been as available as it used to be. Liz was always there, but haven't seen or heard from her lately. Boris used to check in here, but haven't seen him since September. I was over 2 weeks when I started this thread back in August and the best it's been has been 10 days. Honestly, I got tired of asking - it's been consistently slow for months.

Boris,
BS needs to make it easy for photographers to get approved. I recently joined and hit the wall with 15 images limits.  Going by the threads in BS section here, I don't think it is not going to be earlier than 10 days to see those images in the catalog.

I sincerely hope, this wait is worth of its time and efforts.  I am with all leading agencies and have been going well.

I believe, it needs to be easier for everyone.

Images submitted on 25th Jan still languishing in pending list.  If they are running short of resources, this forum has many senior members who can extend the help.  There is something to learn from DT which displays its review time next to all images in queue.

Boris, I and other appreciate your presence here in this forum.  May be you can share the story at other side of the fence.

My initial 15 images were reviewed some hours before.  Thanks for doing that.

Looks like we are back to snail-paced era.  Bigstock does not wish to accept to review more than 15 images. It will take 10 days to get the 15 images reviewed.  There are lot many things I have waited in my life including the love, lets add bigstock to the queue.

It makes me wonder whether Bigstock is worth of its salt aka wait 10 days.  Am I reading it correctly or the review times improve or better the big stock at-least puts the images in approval queue.

My worry and it includes several people like me, who may lose interest in bigstock and forget to comeback. It is not, I would not wish to comeback, The problem is I would forget about it.

I standby my statement, BS can learn many things from DT.

*Seems* , Something positive has happened in last few days at BS.  My images were reviewed promptly, with in few hours. The last two batches of 15 each ( 15 is the limit for one batch) were processed.

I do not question the judgement of reviewers to reject or accept the images. That is their right.  For review times and 15 images per batch should see better light.

Right now, reviews are fine and seem to be moving faster than in the past.

BS goes in sleep mode often. My batch is pending since 25th Feb. It would not accept more than 15 images. There is no time limit. First queue has to get over with 15 images then only you would get chance to submit new batch. Learn something from DT which let you submit the photos every week and limit is not for approval queue. Photographer waiting to submit his photos longer than 10 days because someone at BS did not run through the approval queue in time. End result. Like I, many people forget what we uploaded in BS. And truth is some of us never come back. Lesson for BS: Wake up!!! It is morning for long now.

Another couple of wrinkles in the BigStock upload saga. Every day I upload 10 images. Exactly one of these each day will get corrupted in the upload. Not the 1st or the last, but some random image in the middle returns an error and then it finishes ok.

Also, when I finally got reviews, they used to process 25 at a time, not it is 6, so even if they did keep up with the review, They will always be further and further behind.

I have never had the file corruption problem and my last few batches have been reviewed in 10 or 11 days, all files in a batch at once (I almost always upload in batches of ten).  Sorry you're having those issues but for me they have been fine, just a little slower than in the past.

Support answered me directly. What I thought was file corruption is apparently files over 25mb. Strange that it is always one from each batch, but I'll have to track it.

I also always upload batches of 10. Below is their response to that and mine. Sounds like your results are different than both. The email referencing 'my batch of 6 files from June 8th' I just got, so they are running over 2 weeks for me. Because of the 2 week+ review times and reviewing 6 instead of 10, my files in queue are growing to pretty huge levels.

-------
As far as the number of reviews, I have been uploading 10 images a day for years (although recently it was probably 9 due to the error).

Unfortunately, I don't keep copies of the review emails, but prior to a few weeks ago, the reviews always came in batches of 25. Then I got a few of 21.  Now they come in batches of 6. Below are some of the headers - I don't have any of the old 25, but again. I always upload 10 at a time.

I have over 100 images pending in the queue.  The system does not allow me to push more than 10 images.  It takes over 7 days for reviewers to see your 10 images. So for me, for 100 images, it would 7x10=70 days to get them reviewed.  That's how it works with BS.  The way images are rejected at BS, it would take very long time to build credible portfolio there.  As almost other agency is like that, BS is no different.  Let's go with flow.  No complaints either. BS must know what is best for it.

Thanks, but I'm not talking about what is pending. for me it's 25 and I understand that. I am talking about the files being stuck on the ftp server. Normally, these are pulled down to the pending queue almost immediately. When it gets stuck like this, it requires some manual intervention to get them pushed through. I have about 12,000 images there, so I'm pretty familiar with their process.
