Forgive me if this has been previously posted but looks good to me in my search for a good Carry everywhere camera... I'm gagging for a small camera and so far nothing has met the mark. Thoughts???

The sensors still tiny. I still think the best compact camera for image quality is Sigma Dp1/2. If they put their new foveon sensor in that camera, it will have far superior image quality to any other compact. I really like the DP1 but it's not good for microstock. Nice, but small sensor.

Sony has the right idea with the NEX series but didn't get it quite right.

I like my GF1 but wish Canon would come out with something similar that has a larger sensor and is more compact.

It looks to be a great little camera but IMHO it isn't suitable for stock. Have you checked out the sample images at FULL SIZE over here?

Sorry but to me it just looks like yet another 'ground-breaking P&S' ... which suffers from all the noise and lack of detail of every other one. Being as it is only 10MP you don't have much leeway to shrink the image down either.

I always find P&S's awful in use too. They all seem to have 'shutter lag' (why?) and eyepieces too small to look through, presumably because they expect the user to operate it at arms-length.

I gave up the hunt for a suitable P&S for stock and ended up buying the Canon 500D with 18-55mm kit lens. It won't fit in my pocket but it is still about 1/3 of the weight and much smaller than my 1Ds MkIII with 24-70. It's easy to stick in a bag or over your shoulder and you hardly notice it is there. With 15MP's there's plenty of room to shrink down to address any technical issues too.

Yeah, same with me. I have a S90 and it's the right size, just that I'd really like an optical viewfinder, not a screen, special batteries and charger. OK G series has a viewfinder, it takes great pictures, nice lens, it's too big. Sad

I don't like the popup flash, it gets in the way. Instead of being on or off, it's in the way or off. Wink

Yes, the idea is a pocket camera that goes everywhere. I'm not sure the S90 is the answer, some lens issues compared to the G, even if it has the same electronics and sensor, but so far at $270 used, I'm pretty happy.

I may just give up and go for the Canon Powershot A1200, 12mp, smaller sensor, viewfinder, built in flash, uses standard batteries, SD cards. $109 If I need a "real" camera, I'll take one. Just tired of trying to find a small bridge camera that has good quality, small size and the few features I want. Just doesn't exist yet. Nothing against Olympus, they have some excellent choices and Panasonic also. Might as well go P&S and give up?

I see a monopod and flash bracket that I'd like to have. The leftover money would go for more toys.

I've just bought the newer Canon S95 and it's great !

fits in my pocket nicely and has full manual control.

I've submitted stock with a lot less Wink

Ixus50 and Ixus 95 even !!

If you want a P&S that's stock worthy you can get the Canon G9 or 11 (the G10 had too many pixels cramped into that little sensor).

For $500 extra you get a beautiful Leica red dot on the outside but lose AVCHD video from the equivalent Panasonic model.

I will soon need a new P&S, but I'll be looking for something with a swivel LCD and AA batteries, things I love in my Powershot A620. Canon has the SX20 and SX30, but their long zoom range makes me wonder about image quality (and samples I've seen aren't good).
