Canon announced the latest generation of their EOS-1D series. The Mark III has a 10 MP APS-H (1.3x FOV crop) CMOS sensor and can shoot at 10 frames per second. It features the updated DIGIC III image processor, a new 19 area Auto Focus system, up to ISO 6400 and a 3.0" LCD monitor (with a live view feature). It should ship in April for US$ 3999.

10fps @ 10m pixel.. *, that's a lot of data! And for up to 110 frames...

At least the waiting is over, and I can decide if I finance myself up to the hilt to get a couple of them in my bag for sports work.... Oh wait, I can't even make the deposit, ahh well.

What is with the live view. Would have though that was more of a consumer rather than pro feature. Can see plenty of applications for pros though.

Will be interesting to see what happens to the 30D successor.

I own a 1Ds Mark II.....please it's only 1 1/2 years old.
Please don't come out with with the Mark III until I can afford to buy it.
