For those who not see this on the Istock forum:

http://www.istockphoto.com/forum_messages.php?threadid=61111&page=1

It's maybe the first 1600 iso pictures accepted on IS... Do anybody have already taken 1600 iso shots and get them accepted?

The D3 seem to be a strong upgrade to look for...and still wait to see a D3x at this time.

There are probably many ISO 1600 images on IS.
I can even go one better - here are two recent ISO 3200 images I have there:

I know i have for sure some ISO 1000 shots with a 30D at iStock, I may have 1 at 1600 on iStock and I know for sure I have one at SS...it is possible, you just need to be good (exposure)/lucky

Me it's only 100 and 200 iso from my D200. Now that the D300 is available, I see lot of pictures taken whit and I downloaded some. It's very difficult to say if it's really a great upgrade.

I see a comparison between D200 and D300. I downloaded the original 400 and 800 iso from both. I don't know if it's some bad camera settings but, it appear and how surprising it was that the 400 iso was better whit the D200. More surprising, the 800 iso was better on the D300.

Now I'm just waiting that the store just near my house receive their first D300. While I'm waiting I can't sleep because it sometime seem the D300 is not that much a great choice. Do I have to wait for the next one?

What gear do you use. Or do your 3200 iso are crap first and you are one of these photoshop magician...Because the pictures you show are surprisingly sharp and even greater less of noise and artifact.

I can't really see what is sensational about this. I have had at least a couple of photos at 800 taken with the old E-1 accepted at IS as well as SS this year, and the E-1 is universally accepted as one of the worst high ISO cameras. The key is obviously correct exposure. With the D3, getting ISO 6400 photos should not be a problem, judging from the samples I've seen.

Another important point, is that IS, at least in my experience, will often accept a really good photo, even if it has some noise, while SS won't.

It must be said though, that I would really, really like to have the D3. Do I really need that second kidney  ???

Be aware though, that the D3X, if it appears (I think it will), will probably not have as good high ISO performance as the D3. If it's around 20MP, the pixels will be much smaller, thus generating more noise. That is, unless Nikon makes yet another revolution.

There's obviously a reason why the D3 is designed like it is. Nobody need high ISO performance as much as sports shooters, and although the D3 seems to be a great "universal" camera, sports shooters seems to be one of its primary target groups.

That's a really good thing to know. I was sure that it was impossible pass 800 ISO...But I have already some rejects about noise and artifacts. It was probably not enough strong pics to pass.

Am I right in thinking that your images have been down sampled - where as the D3 image of the buckets is at the native resolution?
