Has anyone tried to clean dust off their Canon Digital Rebel xTi yet?

If so, what was successful for you? Did you use a bulb blower with much success? I'm going to need to clean it well now as I'm starting to use isolated white backgrounds, and stuff is really showing up!

The danger of using your own cleaning method is that it could backfire and get more dust in there. Does your camera not have one of those subsonic cleaners?
If not, I think it's wiser to just leave it alone, and clone off the dust spot with Photoshop on your isolations. That is, until you get the chance to bring the camera in to have a Canon tech do the job.

bulb usually does the trick for me. Just keep the camera with the sensor/opening down... gravity, you know

Had to brush the sensor a couple of times (copperhill static brush) when air bulb didn't quite get all the dust - love it.

Never had to scrape. Do look into copperhill packages though.

yeah, i generally use a bulb blower and it takes away 95% of the dust. Somtimes use the copperhill brush when needed, and sometimes a swab... but a blower really does take out a lot of the dust... you should start with that and see how it looks

When I had the Canon 1ds I used a small brush from Visible Dust. You "charge" it by blowing the bristles with a can of compressed air. Then simply brush lightly on the sensor and the dust is attracted to the bristles by static charge. It worked very well.

Or you can buy the Canon 1Ds Mark III with the auto dust control system. That REALLY works well.

I have just cleaned my camera with with Sensorswap and Eclipse E2 solution from Photographic Solutions - I had three specks that just could be blown or shaken off the sensor (I have a D300, btw).

If you cant blow them off, i wont hesitate to recommend this approach - if youre careful to follow the (simple) guidelines, you really cant mess up. I had to do three passes, btw, tough little buggers :-)
