I guest at LL Lozeau. I worked there a year 1/2 from october 2005 to march 2007. Do you know if they have the D300, because i am going to run 100mph to the store if they have it???

You're right for LL Lozeau.  But I don't know for the D300.  I suggest that you call them regularly and grab one the minute they receive a stock!

For my 40D, I called them tuesday morning and they told me that they had 2 in stock.  By the time I got to the store, they had sell one already!

The other one was for me!

The first week they were out here in Wisconsin(USA),they were selling faster than they could stock them, they were even selling the floor models. Now everyone seems to have them back in stock.

Yes it's always the same. Nikon is worst than canon for the production. The stores receive between 2 and 10 new bodies and 10 is for a big store. You can't think buy one in the first two months if you doesn't command it before.

The D300 is supposed to hit the stores in November. It has been in production since August, or at least that's what I've heard, so hopefully, there will be enough.

For what it's worth, most stores in New Zealand seem to have good stock of the 40D, even the department stores (appliances, furniture, electronics) have them on display, and in their junk mail.

In Montreal, the "artificial" shortage is over and you now can have a 40D  almost anywhere.

Did I say that I really love it?  :D

I just see the review of the 40D in a french magazine and you know what... This camera allow you to shoot at easily 800 ISO like you do it at 200 ISO whit the last generation the 30D.The noise is just not there. 1600 ISO, no problem, it's like the 400. The 1D MarkIII is even better.

These are the two tested this month and the next month it's probably the D300, D3 and 1DS MarkIII whit his 21.1 mpx, turn!!!

Caaan't wait...

Congrats on the 40D. I have my eye on the D300 but that 40D has my eye wandering a bit.
