I've been putting all my pennies in the piggybank, and at last I saved enough for this beast.

Took delivery last week.

Boy oh boy! I'm blown away.

I'm slowly getting to grips with it. Anybody else on here got one and want to share experiences or tips?

I also want the D3, but have to save a little bit more to get one. Have a nice time with it, and a lot of beautiful pictures

although being a Canoner  I am jealous too.congratulations on your new great gear.I don't think in a near feature I'd  invest on a camera in a similar range but still waiting for Canon to release the famous 5d M2.

Piggybank? A D3 would need an elephantbank to fit all the pennies. Congrats.

Thanks    Smiley  It was a fat pig.

With it I bought a back up battery but, trying to cut down the cost a bit, I got a non-Nikon branded one.

Put it in this morning when the first one went flat on me ... and it doesn't work.   Angry

Well controlled. I submitted a couple of images taken at ISO 800 to SS (who are notoriously picky about noise) and they breezed through.
