My recent pay out is burning a hole in my pocket, but what piece of photographic equipment/hardware should I buy to enhance my kit?

Budget -  £100 ($200?) ?

Do you have a good circular polarizer?  A good 50mm 2.8?  Both within this price range.

I know this is in the Cameras/Lenses section but I was thinking more in the way of accessories.

I bought a light tent last time and was thinking of a Sekonic light meter this time, but I don't have a polarizer.

I use a Nikon so a better lens for macro work would be a good idea as the kit lens is a bit soft at the edges.

Do you are happy of your light tent? What improvement do you notice? More light, easier white background? I'm interested to buy one also...

For your 200$. Do you have softboxes? It can be very useful in case that your light tent is too small for a subject.

I also use a light tent since recently for my isolated shots and it is very useful as it is a lot easier to get a nice and subtle lighting. I just use very basic halogen lights and with the tent I get a regular lighting with soft shadow with no pain.

And another advantage is that with a tent it is a lot easier to take shots of objects with "neutral" reflections.

I haven't as yet used the light tent.  With all the sunny weather we've been having here in the UK I've been out taking RM stuff for Alamy and Photoshelter.

I've got some very old Phototax Interfit tungsten lighting  Embarrassed
