Anybody getting charged for a fee when cashing out via Paypal? I was never charged before but for the last cashout, I was.

I have always been charged... I waited until $100 and then requested a check.  My earning there have tanked again down to the way they were a year ago.

This month is the first time I reached payout at both Canstock and Featurepics and  I got charged a couple bucks by paypal for both of them.  All the other companies I have never paid anything to get my money.

I get charged every time.  Maybe you just never noticed before?

Payouts there are so few and far between there I have trouble remembering how to even make the request.

I believe Paypal US and Canada recently introduced a 'Business' vs 'Personal' option for single Send Money transactions. If the sender (stock agency) chooses Business, as would be the right choice for stock payouts, the fee will be appended and the recipient will have to pay. Choosing 'Personal', not. So unless the stock agencies start sending everything under 'Personal' with 'gift from Mom' as a note, this will be the new standard for sites dealing with individual payment requests.

There is no fee applied to the recipient if Mass Payments is used.  Handling individual payouts on a manual basis is most likely pretty inefficient for a business, and additionally now it seems to be costing the artists. It is very refreshing to be offering monthly auto-payouts. Less overhead, no fees, no tying up staff or systems with payout duties. It does however require you keep that money moving, which is from an Eastern philosophy standpoint a good thing.

I have never been charged anything from BigStock or Dt
From both I receive 100%
I have a business account at PayPal if that makes a difference. ( I have been an eBay dealer for 10 years. )
This is a USA to USA transaction and to other country's there may be big differences.

I have just received a payment from BigStock without any fees.  Regular PP account.

No, I am talking about CanStockPhoto, not BigStock or DT.

I get payouts from CanStockPhoto every 2 months or so for a long time, and just recently, got it every month and only this month I was charged for a fee. I've been using the same Paypal account since I started microstock. So, definitely, it's coming from how CanStockPhoto sends the money out.

^^  Agree.  Canstock is the only one that gets charged a fee.  I think it is because they don't do enough payouts to qualify for masspay at paypal.

I mentioned BigStock because it is based in the USA and is not charging anything (see Zymm reply).  My only payout there was with PP but long ago to help.

I don't know about Canstock, but BigStock does not hold back any money. Fotolia does, as far as I know. They hold back 1 euro for every pay out request.
Paypal holds back some money when changing dollars to euros (and v.v. I suppose).

I didn't know Fotolia held back 1 euro.  For paypal requests to US contributor in US dollars they don't hold anything back or charge anything.

For a reliable answer: Did it ever occur to you to ask Canstock and PayPal for the answer? I would think that is the first place I would go for answers. No one here can reliably answer your question. Your profile here on MSG does not even show what country your dealing from.

If you'd ever tried to contact Canstock then you'd know... I'm just asking if anyone else is experiencing the same thing.

FT only charges a fee if you convert less than 50 Credits.

Any news about this PP fee?  When do they charge anything?

I was going to request a US$100 payout through MB and I saw CanStockPhoto charges U$2.50 for that (ouch!).  PP is not very convenient, but as I am going to buy some software I might use it, but if I have to pay fees there too then it's not an advantage.

I cashed out this week and wasn't charged any fee.
The last time I was charged a fee was back in April.
I believe they changed their policy and/or their agreement with PayPal earlier this year.

Really - have you contacted them in the past few months?  I posted here on MSG that I was having trouble ftp'ing to CS and that Activex didn't work either.  The next day Dillon from Canstock looked up my phone number and called me to help me with ftp.  A while later I received an e-mail that they found the problem with Activex and were working on the fix.  I know I didn't "contact" them, but that's pretty outstanding service from what I experienced.

I agree with Pixart.  I have had nothing but positive customer service experiences with Canstock.
