Beleive it or not, but my cevapcici image also got an regular download on Fotosearch and $26.something is my cut - The only for now and the first of 500 images ;-)
It is quite interesting to know that not only Fotolia, Shutterstock, Dreamstime, iStock, StockXpert and Jupiterimages buyers buy that of mine very anticipated image by fellow photographers and some other agencies which think that is snapshot of just an sort of by them so called 'Croatian Sausages'!

I am lucky to get downloads on my by such big photographers so called 'crap' shots - what else?

I like this as proof that I am doing the right selection in what I upload and loss is there where they think they know better than me what is to be value in stock photography :P

LOL!

OK well after not uploading anything for over a year I've bit the bullet and am more than doubling my portfolio there. Hopefully it will pay off. It's been so long since I've uploaded I forgot how the upload process is. Got 150 uploading now, I hope it's like Crestock's upload process.  ;)

Yap, if Milinz' cevapcici sells, anything sells.  ;)
I think from now on, I'm going to add "cevapcici sexy beautiful tasty background" to all of my keywords.  ;D

FlemishDreams: But, I never can or will upload such image as you have taken on balcony and table in it with some drinks in keywords with no such drinks on image... Quite interesting image in terms of lighting, composition and all chaos in it. I hear it will be published in new formal book on master photography studies in section called "begginers mistakes: don't ever take this kind of images". Authors of that book just wait for you to upload to some cheaper site so they can overpay it by only $1/download due to remake of it will take time and some kids to find for clicking the shutter button :D

Borg: No, it never come to my mind that I can put 'background' into that image - fixed  :P

@ Borg: Nice background indeed  ;)
Yup... But mine cevapcici will always sell - they already have advantage in sales and better placement in search engine and targeted to cook books ;-)
But, it won't sell so well unfortunately. Buyers more like some other angles  ::)

Composition lesson 1   ???

This one is like your cevapcici (a bit too boring):
http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-10324966-bread-pastry-macro.html

This is one of my bestsellers on some sites (nice useful image):
http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-10264720-bread-pastry-in-the-basket-isolated-over-white-background.html

This is more the applied way to sell that subject on other way (big and nice, but less useful image):
http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-10830604--format-landscape-frame-of-different-bread-and-pastry-goods-without-any-drop-shadows-isolated.html

The best way to sell that sort of dish (I mean Cevapcici) is that to order them in Serbian restaurant and to use full lighting equipment and tripod with making series of several shots from several (mostly low and wierd) angles... No - this is not only about cevapcici - it is applicable to any dish you may be inspired with!

So, when composition is decision element - it is quite interesting to know how to compose photo or subject for different buyer categories and their specific needs... There is also problem with agencies who think they know better than expirienced authors what good sellable composition is. My impression is that most agencies are thinking that 'universal' composition is best composition - but that is what is wrong. It is just because there is NO UNIVERSAL BUYER. Any buyer have specific needs when buying photo - so, any subject can be shot on different ways and differrent compositions with really no LCV as reason to be rejected if technically OK images.

I didn't wanted to offend anyone. I just made clear why is composition significant for sales.  ;)

Happy shooting with cevapcici! I will stick with my vectors and model images (exclusively sold in advance) except when I really see and take picture of something what can be good sellable stock photo  :P

My God....Milinz.... Seem like you have "cevapcici addiction" :D You turn almost every thread into "story about cevapcici" ;D I know many people adore cevapcici, but you won! :D

Please people! You all listen to me!! Don't you ever think to take a single shot of cevapcici because Milinz made a trademark of cevapcici and he's doing the best photos of cevapcici!

No hard feelings, just kidding :)

Cevapcici - the magic word...

Trademark? Hmmm Not bad idea  ;D

Don't worry - it is just one old 'badly composed' well selling image... It already earned me more money than I previously charged to owner of restaurant where I did my photoshoot...

 ;)

I will not ever mention that word in any forum where I post... If by chance needed to mention it - I will use 'dish' instead of 'cevapcici'...

As I replied in PM, those keywords are not mine at all. Makes me think that Zymmetrical's database got corrupt and that's a very bad feeling. It happened before when I found other people's images in my Zymmetrical portfolio - but I was assured that this was just a temporary glitch and the database was intact.

The keywords on Zymmetrical are:
hot lemon |  lemon drink |  lemon |  lemons |  hot |  for |  a |  cold |  household remedy |  traditional |  hot drink |  hot drinks |  beverage |  beverages |  brew |  infusion |  teacup |  cup of tea |  teacups |  transparent |  glass |  glassware |  set of glasses |  set of glasses |  cup |  cups |  saucer |  warming |  heating |  heat |  sour |  acid |  vitamin c |  organic |  natural |  healthy |  salutary |  of |  on |  up |  to

The real keywords in the IPTC (and I just verified on Featurepics, ShutterStock and on Cutcaster) are:
table,    tableware,    cutlery,    outdoors,    suburban,    patio,    lifestyle,    terrace,    house,    mansion,    estate,    picnic,    affluent,    countryside,    wealthy,    rural,    rustic,    classy,    arrangement,    style,    casual,    stillife,    meal,    still,    life,    rich,    diner,    lunch,    relaxed,    green,    shrubs,    lawn,    reflection,    spoons,    forks,    knives,    plates,    dishes,    glassware,    glasses,    silverware,    silver,    outside,    walls,    window,    chairs

Compare keywords at Zymmetrical, Cutcaster and ShutterStock.

Thanks for warning me about this! I really don't intend to check all my images on Zymm now since the site is still slow, compared to the BIG 6.

I had a look and the keywords were wrong but it's no corruption: the right keywords were imported from IPTC, but incorrect keywords were applied during the submissions phase. So, human error I would suppose on our staffs part - a long day, two images in the queue near each other with somewhat similar keywords, and a wrong button click is all it would take for this to occur. It's the first time i've encountered such an issue, our reviewers are generally flawless but they are human after all.

Even I didn't notice the incorrect keywords when Milinz pointed that photo out for a critique, my mind has approved photos under 'keyworded properly' and my eyes literally probably went nowhere but the photo in question.  You look at a site all day and you start to get tunnel vision. :)

I will update the keywords now. :)

Hmm... I re-keyworded most of my shots on Dreamstime the past week, no keyword hickups, so I guess their reviewers are fail-safe robots, or Milinz is the only reviewer there. ;D

To be frank, mixing up metadata with the image itself should be made impossible to do by design. If Milinz can find one by just sampling, how many more are there around like this? I bet nobody checks his images after acceptance.

Well the reviewers tool is quite similar to the Describe area on the submissions page- which to say is a compromise to fit a lot of functionality into the screen- and the reviewers version has a lot more bells and whistles. After tens of thousands of reviews I would find it hard to believe someone wouldn't press the wrong button or select the wrong photo at least once.  I think this one just slid through because by coincidence the keywords were generally similar.  :-[
