I have FINALLY purchased a NAS to do an in-house constant back-up... or at least nightly . I ended up going with this one:
Qnap TS-439 Pro IISo anyhow, now I am covered if my hard drives fail any time. Before I was doing regular back-ups to external drives but I wanted something more regular and a NAS will be nice for other reasons as well.
So anyhow, now I was to be covered if my house burns down or someone steals all my computer equipment. I have done monthly hard drive transfers to another house but since I have a NAS it would be nice to have something automatic. I checked out Amazon S3 and it seems like it will work automatically with the Qnap but storing 2 TB of data would be $200/month which sounds fairly expensive. I could set up another NAS at a friends house for quite a bit cheaper and get them to sync.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
