Few years ago when I had some spare cash I was thinking about upgrading my Samsung SyncMaster 750, but after reading about color fidelity issues with TN monitors. TN technology was widely available but monitors with different technology cost here much more(comparing to other countries) need to be preordered and fully prepaid.

Now after few years I wonder if color fidelity is still issue and you prefer CRT or LCD have been improved well enough to be suitable for photo editing?

I'd appreciate any feedback with info about particular models, as some day I'll have to upgradre my monitor and wish to be ready to do this.

I am an Illustrator and have been using LCD screens for about five years now, part of that time within a repro studio and I would say they are more than good enough. The current one I am using is the beautiful imac 24" which I cant fault at all.

Viewsonic 19" Widescreen LCD. The difference in between my 20" NEC CRT and the Viewsonic are night and day. The LCD is awesome.

philips 19" before that laptop screens (4 laptops) so the philips seems very bright but is better than any laptop screen I've used.  Hopefully will replace with 24" dell later in year Smiley

15'' toshiba laptop monitor. colors are fine after calibration, but size is not enough to be efficient with PS.
