after 8 mos. of dealing with their crap attitude and insane rejection rates, I pulled my work and closed the account. My worst images (that weren't selling anywhere) were the ones they accepted (which didn't sell there either). The top 6 eat up the majority of my time and it's enough of a battle dealing with them - but the sales make it worthwhile.

...if I need to deal with Nurse Ratchet, I'll watch One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

Sorry for our 'crap' attitude.  :(  And, bad vibes too...

As photographers, you're probably very busy shooting, editting and uploading so I won't waste anyones time.

I can only speak for Crestock's inspections since May. In that time we've approved at about 61%.

We write custom comments to contributors we feel are especially good, or give tips to contributors we feel could do some things better. We take time to respond to all complaints, despite a heavy amount of uploads that need to be inspected.

Crestock is a stock photo agency. Despite the anonymous nature of microstock, using the internet as a medium, we're more interested in cooperating as closely as possible with photographers and certainly don't wish to give anyone bad vibes.

I'm here because we've had a couple of great dealings with a few of the major microstock photographers going around over the past few months. They've contacted us and we've worked out ways of taking in large amounts of their collections. This has been good for everyone, with our collection really growing fast and their sales doing the same. We'd be interested in helping out any photographers that want to upload a lot of pictures, making sure that they don't waste time getting surprising rejections and giving them better exposure once they're up.

Contact me directly if I can help.

Well, that's subjective ;-)
The bad vibes were a year ago. A year is a century in stock. We all got better too. Im currently at Alamy, wouldn't have dared to apply there a year ago. Most still here got better. We upgraded cams, techniques, and concept. Rejections are part of life, as long as they are motivated well.
Many pro photgs flow into microstock. New ones too like my countryfellow Perrush who is far above my level, and made it right from the start into the Dreamstime charts. Things change... microstock changes... it's a rat race.

For the evaluation of a portfolio 500+, it would be better to send in a CD and not to lose bandwidth. Its also easier to review. Put the approved ones in queue and we can just categorize at our ease. Sendin a CD is more time efficient than upload 500 shots.

We don't usually accept DVDs as an option, sorry. Unless you're the best photographer in the world, and then we'll pick them up too...  ;)

But, the option we do have is what i'm told is the fastest uploading system around. Although for large amounts, bandwidth is always a problem...

hi, my view.  I takes me about 30 secs to point my ftp software to crestock. then I do other things.  I hit process files from ftp and do other stuff while it does it thing, then I add model release (at least I hopefully remember to add model release  :-\ ) select all, then submit.  Probably less than 5 minutes all up.

They have high rejection, thats their choice,  I have had enough rejections, I can live with it, especially on site that isn't a huge seller.  Anyway my view is that there is enough pics on it that a buyer is likely to find something they are after, buyers are not going to come to another site specifically for my images so if my images are not there it wont be my image that gets the sale.  Sales are low but at least they are my low sales, for only a few minutes work per submission.
