Dear All,

I just wonder, any inside info on the issue?
Why Crestock rejects everything, best from the best, VIP photographs, what other microstocks sell like hell?
Evaluation takes 3 months.., then they reject everything, so, I can conclude only they are going down...  :(
Or what is going on?

Best & thanks

Who are these best of the best, VIP photographers that are having their work rejected? Are there a lot of them that are having their work rejected?

Dear All,

I would really appreciate any constructive comments/ideas/info on the post.
Just to make myself clear: I assume if my images have passed quality control in the Top Tier "Big 4" at the local microstock Poll at the right of this page, and they sell daily, - there should be no questions regarding "are they salable or marketable"? They do 100%... :)
The question is why in the past (2-3 years ago) CreStock accepted all my photography and every one was sold many time so far, why it does not do it anymore? Do they face financial crises? Do they change "some politics" I am not aware of...? If you know something, please, share your thoughts and/or your experience!
Many thanks!!!

Crestock is still in business? How is that possible?

The question isn't why they reject your work, the question is why would you spend any more time and effort to an agency that doesn't value your work and, more importantly, doesn't sell?

...yes, that's true, but, first, I want to understand, what is wrong with them (cause, they were selling good in the past), and second, yes, they not only stopped selling my images for whatever reason, but also they stopped accepting new content from me... and third, I do not know, actually, maybe if they would accept my new content, which is much better now than 5 years ago (technical-wise and artistically), then I have finally sells... :) I have no clear answer for this question, this is why I am asking others, who work or worked with CreStock, what do they think... :)

CrestStock is not going out of business any time soon since they are owned by Masterfile. A company that's been around like forever. Also it seems that CS is nothing more then a bridge for MF. Since they have much to choose from, they only seem to except stuff that can be found on MF. To me that's too much effort for low income that creststock provides. If I'm gonna make some elaborate time consuming work, not dong it for peanuts.  8)

...thanks!!! It is already something to think about! Somehow I feel that they are not really interested in me as a photographer; in the last year I complained to them a lot about too long evaluation time arguing that SS has 1-2 hours for review, FT - 1-2 days, why CS - months? They just kicked me off saying: if I do not like their service I can close my account... :) I just found: "Crestock was purchased on July 1, 2010 by Toronto-based Masterfile", I guess this fits about the time when I noticed some drawbacks and floppiness at the site... :)

Not surprised I found them the most arrogant site out there with nothing to be arrogant about

...after reading in other forums (see below) so much negative about CreStock, with similar complains as mine, I give up (!!!), it is not worth of my efforts and time, I will close my account, period!!!

It is a bit outdated, for 2007, but still, it is just the same (1:1) to me now for 2017-2018:

Thanks to everyone for participation in this post!!!
Best & good luck!!!

I have an update:

After complaining for a few times to the support team about rejecting my images without any obvious bold reasons, they have suddenly decided to re-evaluate them... :) So, the majority from my last batch of uploaded images was approved... :) Let's see whether these newbies will sell within next 1-2 months... :) If not, then I leave the site! :)

Best & good luck!

...yes, not anymore, but I have to get my earnings there, for that I need some decent sells to be done to reach their minimum payment threshold... :) I am very rational, no more waste, no more hopes, it doesn't work for me... :)

I guess if you wish to close your account, you can request your payment if it's under $50 or whatever their minimum threshold is and they must pay you.

...yes, it is US$50 minimum payout! :) I have to wait a bit to reach this amount... :) Otherwise, if I close now my account, all my earnings will be burned-out, I do not like to give them such luxury... :)

my guess is all these sites in the end of the day are competitive to each other so maybe their reviewers look at your portfolio in ss for instance and when you submit them the same image they reject it couse they wanna sell photos that you cant get in ss
its not always about technical errors in an image.

Thats a new one...I reckon they just want to sell pictures....I would bet 90% of the best selling images are on SS mine are

...unlikely, if you explicitly submit your content as not exclusive!!!, they will never bother to research you on other sites, the situation is different, when you claim you submit your images exclusively, then, they can go randomly through your portfolio and check that... :) although, if there is a serious suspicion... :)

...just a quick update: since my re-submitted content was accepted by Crestock (~1 month), after dozens of complains, no "a single sell" from newbies, neither from old ones... :) It supports my suspicion that Crestock, unfortunately, is no use anymore... :(

^ Exactly this. This was one of the first agencies I quit some years back, and am still thrilled with my choice.
