Until recently, I received an email every time (like once per month) I had a sale at Crestock. However, when I checked my account there today (to see if it could be true that I had zero sales so far in March, just like in February), I actually had a couple of sales at the beginning of the month, but no emails.

Anybody with similar exprience?

Crestock emails are sporadic - sometimes I get 'em, sometimes I don't.

Well, sales are sporadic too, so in a way, it makes sense  Roll Eyes

Anybody with similar exprience?

No sales this year.  Not a single one.  Therefore, no emails.

I re-joined CS in January since they seemed to have lost their bad attitude from a year ago. Uploaded 10 full size, accepted 7. The site is very well programmed, a real example of a good RF site.

As to sales, I got 3 of 0.25$. Judging from that limited sample, it's just another subscription site with insulting low prices. Even SS gives 0.30$ and I got 90% acceptance there. With the dollar down to 1.60 to the Euro, I guess it's not worthwhile to upload more to CS.

What's more, exactly the same shot sold at MostPhotos for 12.5 Euro, a trifle more than at CS with a dollar not even worth the paper it is printed on. I can't justify to customers giving away 10MP shots at Crestock for a lousy 0.25 worthless dollars when they have to pay good Euros at MostPhotos.

Sorry Crestock, I will quit.

Yes, they definitely have to do something about their low commissions - they don't have the volume to justify selling at such low prices.

At the moment, it doesn't seem important if Crestock exists or not. Nothing seems to be happening there, and there are other Scandinavian microstock sites with more sales and higher commissions.

There's Judge Ross of course, but sometimes, I think his worst photo of the day looks better than the best photo of the day, but that may be because I have such bad taste   Wink

helo to all

I have  one question about crestock???

Just like all of you i have the problems you do too.

BUT

It seems to br a litle weard for me that all of my sales so far in crestock

are subscription sales !!!!

15 out of 15 ... this is a bit suspicious don't you think??

I would like to know if that little sales that you have (just something like me i suppose)

are subscription sales.

because if they do have subscriptions clients it can't be not having any non subscription client???

what do you think??

87% of my Crestock sales are by subscription - for every 8 sales I make, only 1 is for more than 25c. My average is 42 cents per DL.

So Crestock is a subscription site. If it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, swims like a duck, flies like a duck and looks like a duck, - it's logical to assume it's a duck.

And if I have not missed something, when I joined them in their early days, subscription did not exist and their basic price was US$10.

Most of my sales there are sub sales, so yeah, I would agree that Crestock is basically a subscription site.

Today was actually a pretty good day for me at Crestock, which is odd since today is Sunday, Easter Sunday no less. I have had 9 sub sales so far today.

Too bad that's not average there for me, and too bad they are all subs. Getting 9 per-credit sales would be nice.

Bonjourno!

First, my apologies for not responding to this earlier, we all need a holiday from time to time (btw, italy + alps + snow + snowboarding = wow).

Last week, the programming team let me know that they had, in fact, found a small missing bit of some code in the thing. They have now put it back where it should be and, therefore, everyone should now get an email when a customer purchases one of your pictures. We're sorry that this got overlooked, but, hopefully, all is well there now.

We realize every discussion about Crestock is going to eventually come around to the concerns about subscriptions. We know cause its the same with our internal discussions, which always end up being about subscriptions and pricing, etc. Logistically, if i understand correctly, its a massively big thing to modify. Tweaking with one small number affects all other numbers in an exponential way (sometimes in a good way, other times, not). Crestock, still young, needs to be careful that we don't hinder our overall longterm growth by changing before we're ready. We encourage further discussion about this, as our own discussions will be on-going regarding this.

I got one today.  After 104 days, a new sale.  25c - THAT is a joke!  Grin
