I see that Crestock gives away a free photo every day. Do photographers get paid for this? For every download?

I consistently earn more at Crestock than at BigStock, 123RF, and sometimes even Fotolia.

Crestock is a long way from fotolia for me, but it is ahead of Bigstock and 123RF this month (for the first time).. I think it is definitely improving

Does Crestock select the photo, or do they choose from a pool of photos where photographers indicate "these are okay for free photo of the day"?

Their submission process is so smoooooth.  I don't get as many sales there as I'd like, but it's just so easy to upload to them.

Hi,

I'm holding back on giving a final answer on this because we're working on a possible change here..

In the past, one of the Crestock staff would request to use an image for 'Free image of the Day' or photographers can always email helpdesk if they are especially keen to put a free image up. Its quite good promotion for a photographer with up to 1500 people looking at the image in a day, it may work to make customers curious about the rest of your portfolio.
