I just joined CutCaster. It was on a whim. I'm new to this business and so are they. Maybe we'll get lucky.

I browsed the site and saw that many of the old hands are on board. Since the pricing scheme seems unique, I was wondering if you upload the same images that you have on other sites ... selling and much lower prices?

To me it looks a kind of different images that might fare well there.

i submitted my images to John' s site because he sounded like a cool guy.
but no sales at all. as for images on other sites, i do give cut some of the same images, but when i do i charge the same as the other places. just to be fair.
this far, i can't say it's any diff from yay. at least not until i see a sale.

hi, really like cutcaster, they are new and seem to a fair way of selling images, John the guy who runs it seams a really nice guy, when i had some questions he answered them strait away. have only been there for a short time but have had one sale for $7. personally i am getting unhappy with the way the microstock industry is getting taken over by the big corporations, who seem to be hell bent on trying to get contributors to become exclusive to them, well thats good for some people but for me its not, i like my independence and firmly believe that helping the new companies that are trying to promote a business model that is fair to the contributors is better for the industry and better for freelancers.
it really is not that much effort to upload via ftp and add a new site to your list and in time that small investment will start earning. the microstock market is growing very fast and there is lots of room for new companies with new ideas to flourish, the last thing independents like me want is to be cornered into going exclusive and when all the competition is gone these companies start cutting your commissions, deleting your forum posts and closing your account when you complain, rejecting images because these companies have got so big that they don't need that type any more.
the list goes on... cutcaster is rocks

I am uploading my portfolio to cutcaster and I will give them at least a year to get going. I had 2 sales but don't have high expectations until there is a big enough collection of images there to attract buyers.

I know it is going to be almost impossible for a new site to make it big but John seems up to the task. I hope lots of us will give him a chance, as he is really working hard and has come up with a great looking site and a new concept. Most of the other new sites have followed a standard microstock formula but the cutcaster pricing and bid system is different and I hope it works.

John is a great guy, really. I upload there even I have no sales yet. It's real refreshment to have someone so supportive in this business. I also like very much Elena from Featurepics and Alex from 123RF.

I recently read a post about unhappy contributors joining forces to create their own agency. I don't remember the exact thread but that idea got me to thinking. What if we adopt John G as the leader of our new (unhappy contributors) agency? Sure would cut down on the expense of a startup. Cool
