I uploaded a big batch and it never showed up on the site - that was Saturday maybe - and it hadn't gone through as of this morning. *shrug*

Matt, Did you process the FTP folder from the first upload page by clicking on that green button?
Cardmaverick. I am happy to help. Can you let me know the error you are getting and the FTP client you are using? You can email me at john AT cutcaster DOT com.
Anyone else haveing issues?

I got mine pushed through fairly far - I'm not sure how many I sent but at least some went.

Hi John,
I have today following problem. I have uploaded several files using FTP and after processing FTP uploads all are automatically rejected because of low resolution even if they are in original size ca. 12.7Mpix. When I click on button Process FTP uploads several times, number of rejected images is still growing very fast even I have uploaded just few files.
Can you check it, please? Thanks

Let me check into this. I have been getting other reports that something might be up. Give me a few and I will report back here. If you have any other info on what could be happening let me know. but in the future just click the process button once and let it process the files. The reason why they are going to the reject area is because they were either not uploaded right or when they were transferred it got cut off. I will take a look.
John

Hi John,
I have tested upload today and this error (rejected because of low rejected because of low resolution) happens even if I upload 2 files via web. Uploaded 2 files, in few seconds 18 images were automaticaly rejected (thumbnails were also missing). It seems to be generall problem, not only with FTP. Thanks.

Yep there is indeed a problem that is a bug on our side. Working on that yesterday and more today. I will report more news here once it is fixed or as I learn more. Thanks for any feedback regarding the problem so we can get it fixed sooner.

I am actually a new uploader to Cutcaster...I uploaded a few yesterday via your online uploader...no problems. I uploaded about 20 this morning using Fetch...no problems. I'm on a Mac OS 10.5.8 using Firefox 3.0.17.
Nice site, by the way...easy uploading and pushing images through. I like it!
I've only found one thing that is kind of a pain...when uploading model releases, having to upload a picture of the person in addition to the MR...I haven't really had to do that before. IS started asking for a pic of the shoot on their MRs and PRs, but I haven't really shot models since then. But I have tons of other pics to upload, so will save the people ones for last.
I hope this site is successful!

Should be fixed now. Did a bunch of testing and changed a few settings on the server so I hope this is behind us. Let me know if any of you still have problems and I can send you further instructions.

We just increased the firewall settings as well so that should fix the issue. Let me know if it does not. We have been testing this morning and it is working with no glitches.

I just uploaded 9 images via FTP. They are all in the rejected tab. 9 don't even have thumbnails. When I hover over the one that does have a thumbnail, it says Problem Loading Thumbnail (Please Resubmit).

Good info. This will help. I think we narrowed it down to the processing button and there is a glitch when you process your uploads that is caused by our site and not you guys doing anything wrong. I am sorry for the frustration and hope this hasn't led to too much inconvenience. It is my top priority going forward until it is working again. And then I am back to buyers work ;-)

John, I still can't upload using CuteFtp, so I tried to upload images using web based upload. But it seams that all uploaded images finished the same moment in rejected, and there are no thumbnails...Is it possible?

It seems there are huge problem with FTP upload generally. I can't even log on FTP server because of error 'can not redirect to folder XY' since yesterday.
There are 3 things which frustrate contributors: - no sales - long pending time with too much rejections - uploading not working

What frustrates me is the same thing that frustrates you. I have spent the last 72 hours on almost nothing else besides a few sales calls I make every day. Cutcaster needs quality images and illustrations and when the uploading is out of whack it creates more work for everyone, from the contributor to Cutcaster. For the contributors inconvenience I am sorry. I understand why it is frustrating but in our defense our upload process is one of the easiest and hardly ever down for more than a few hours in a whole year. We want to make it easy and profitable to upload to Cutcaster.
The issue with the FTP looks like a hard disk failure that led to some issues with our server which the FTP resides on. The uploader or when you processed your uploads after using an FTP client, wasn't reading all the file's metadata and thus was automatically rejecting files because they appeared to be below our minimum file size of 1600 by 1200. I am sure the system read the resolution as 0 X 0 and rejected them on that basis. That is why they end up in the reject area immediately. I am not as technical as most on this site but we believe we have the server issue sorted out and have been testing and freeing up space on the drive so it doesn't rear its ugly head ever again.
I am working hard to remedy the problem and want to get back to my normal business day of focusing only on getting more buyers. When I have more info I will 100% update it here. Thanks

Hahahaha. True. Went to bed at 2am PST and then was up for a call with a content development/pre-press vendor at 7am PST. It was a great call and a bigtime image buyer so things like that keep me very excited and knowing we are going in the right direction.
