Happy to share some results from our annual Picture Buyer Survey. Learn about image buyers budgets and their industries http://bit.ly/fIcRUa

We will be releasing a bunch more image buying stats to help you guys learn more about the buyers who are using Cutcaster and how you can sell more stock images in general. This is going to be a part of a new series where we release more data from the agencies side so contributors know more about the picture buying public.

Good info. Surprised nobody has commented on this. Especially the average price paid.

You got that right.  I'd say it's a bit hard to justify a 19 cent commission, given those numbers, which clearly show that buyers have no problem paying a few dollars for the image they need, when they need it.

Of course I understand these stats just are what they are, and won't answer every question.

But looking at them, what I can't 'get' is how  the big agencies can maintain that 25 cents is not only a fair commission, but the best they can do given the market realities.  With subscriptions, they've really completely hidden what a buyer pays - we don't know what the subscription cost, we have no way to assign a 'price' to an individual download.  The word 'commission' doesn't mean anything in that context.  It's just a crumb tossed our way, as a nice little thank-you, I guess.   Probably in the future it will be replaced with a congratulatory email, automatically generated.
