Dear DP,

Please consider changing the way your editor is reading IPTC data. Its separating my phrases into single keywords and that causes them to go over 50. Then I need to delete them one by one, so I can copy in the correct keywords in.

Please read phrases as phrase from the file data, and please consider a delete all button on the keyword field.

Please please please do something about this, as its really costing me a lot of time, to keyword specificly for deposit photo.

Please.

Thanks

I had this problem too - very annoying.

Not a great work around, but I realised it was easier to delete all the problem files, re-keyword and upload again!

PS .... is keyword 'phrasing' useful?

How is that better than have all keywords separate?

And if it is useful, do you use the phasing plus the separate individual words as well?

Well, "isolated on white' looks better as a phrase than as 3 separate words.  And a good search engine would be smart enough to treat it as a phrase.

In general (I can't say anything about DP) it is extremely useful, ID, and only if, it's implented properly by both the keyworder and the search engine.
For example, with keywords only, a search for Blue Whale will turn up pictures of any random whale in a 'blue' sea, 'whale' shark in a 'blue' sea and so on (as well as deliberate spam and general ignorance; don't get me started).
Alamy's search is completely screwed up because of this.
That example was taken from a search I did in Alamy, but I looked, for probably the first time, on DP and did the search.
The default search on DP is 'Best Sales'. A search for Blue Whale got me:
1 humpback whale
2 whale sharks
1 cartoon whale which is blue
1 whale shark
An unidentified 'whole' (sic)
1 cartoon whale
1 beluga whale ... on the top line, and the second line is as bad. Not one Blue Whale in the top two lines.
The Best Match, however, is better, with 6 of the top 48 'photos only'  being actual Blue Whales.
In DP, trying "Blue Whale" gave me no results at all.
FLOG.  :(

I am having this problem for months now, and I have a back log of images. It seems this is still not fixed.

Do you guys just keep submitting and ignore the problem by submitting images with separated keywords, or do you put in the work of deleting all keywords, and past them all back in correctly?

I mean I have keyword phrases such as 'do it yourself', I dont want to submit that is do,it,yourself,. That wouldnt make sense.

Thanks

It certainly wouldn't be worth my time.  I just leave it as is, and let them sort it out.

Thanks, but if I submit them with the keywords separated, I think they wont go back and put them in phrases again.

So I guess for now, I am going to sit on my images until they fix it. But I am getting mixed messages from them.

First there was no issue, then they acknowledged the problem and it would be fixed, then they told me my software was faulty and then they told me they were looking into the issue and would get back to me.

So I dont know when this will be fixed. I am not the only one, but it seems other contributors dont have a problem with it. But I dont want my phrases separated.

Its going to be a ton of work to re-keyword close to 100 images just to work around that bug.
