I've added a tool to deactivate specified amount of files starting from oldest/newest/popular/unpopular in StockSubmitter to help those who's going to join us and deactivate their portfolio on 1st October.

By the way, they had deactivation limited or disabled temporarily (probably were scared to lose more images) but now it works again.

Deposiphotos temporarily prevented the deactivation file

 Nice  :)

I think it will be useful if you can insert a popup window about this protest (or something like this) in StockSubmiter. May be with a link to this subject, ore something like that....

Of course, we will do that soon so all of the program users will be notified too.

Deactivate script (from microstock forum users):

1) Copy this code:

for ( i=0; i < document.getElementsByTagName('a').length; i++ ) {
   let a = document.getElementsByTagName('a');
   if (a.title == 'Deactivate')
     a.click();
}

2) Open Firefox your online files
 http://depositphotos.com/files.html
 Сhoose to show 160
3) Press Shift+F4 and paste the copied script into an openable window
5)  Press Ctrl+R
All files deactivated on the current page. Repeat step 5 until no files.

While adhering to the general deactivation of October 1. If they change the date, I'll let you know here.

On Mac I get the error:

/*
Exception: SyntaxError: missing ; before statement
@Scratchpad/1:10
*/

I have tried with ctrl R and cmd R too

After a restart of Firefox I don't get any error message, but the script seems to have no action

October 1 is close, it could be useful to make a separate thread for DP D-day, with informative title.

I was wondering about the kind of license they get with that and it says Unlimited Print use and Printing - wow. I will definitely deactivate my images for sure.

May I ask, how can you do that? On the contributor page I don't find any other option than sorting my files newest first.

727 more files to deactivate - argh
I deactivated the most popular ones first...

I think I am just going to stick with Shutterstock and Alamy for a while.

Let them deactivate all your files through request to Deposit support e-mail ;)

Someone in Russian forum told that after this request the account was banned but files weren't deactivated.

I think that anyone should know that Deposite is trying to block image deleting. Now we can't make if fast, we should wait several seconds.
It's very bad cause it's showing that thay can do anything anytime. Tomorrow they can say "sorry you can't delete your images, you reach your limit". So you have to sell images on our site.

Before this I deleted about 1000 images a day. Now I'm going to delete all my images right now. There is a script for Firefox, so I have only to wait a little.

This morning after that I have deactivated one image I have got an error message.

I clicked OK and deactivated another image then again I get the error message, then I clicked OK, etc
So now it is 3 times longer to deactivate the images
But I will not surrender!

To sum it up, they have:

- Offered all ports on reseller websites for premium prices and paying a measly 0,03% subscription commission per sale
- Lied to contributors about files being removed after complaints (the files were still available or re-appeared)
- Lowered commissions 'to improve sales'
- Created a DollarPhotoClub clone that will kill credit sales (not that there were many of them)

Anything else?

Really wondering why people still contribute to this site. The cards where always up so see. No surprises here.......people should start to act more responsible to who they supply creative work and all those dodgy sites would just dissapear. Don't blame them....blame us.

They say they have technical error on site that not allows to deactivate files fast. But here is the real answer of the site when you try to do that:

{"blocked":true,"until":"12\/31\/1970","reason":"Deactivation limit exceeded"}}

New update of StockSubmitter takes care of this "blocking" and retries attempts until files get deleted.
We will not let them tell us where to sell our images and for what prices...
