Topic: 21 cents - a new low?

An XS image just sold on DT and netted me .21 cents.   It's "1 credit (2010)", which means absoutely nothing because I also see recent "1 credit (2010)" sales for .30, .29, and .28.     I'm pretty sure I've never seen a .21 payment before - is it a new low?

Thankfully, I did not have any $0.21 so far but I see few $0.26 - extrasmall - 1 credit 2010.

Achilles explained a while ago that those are third party sales, since even with the largest custom credit package on DT itself, your share will be much higher on a 2010 1 credit sale.

So that's how it works now.  To reduce commissions - without admitting that's what you're doing - you just start selling through "3rd party" sites.  It won't be long before every microstock has its own little circle of "partners" selling the same images for lower and lower commissions.

A "credit" is play money, the value of which is whatever a microstock agency says it is, at any particular time.

I've had a few of them, but since my overall RPD at Dreamstime is still $1.67 I am not to worried about it.

If 21 cents is your new low you must not submit to iStock!

Just a new low for DT, and I'm sure it won't hold the record for too long.  Any day now I expect to see that commissions have gone negative and we get charged 5 cents per download.
