Topic: 368 submitted keywords for 6 cents, and takes 8 weeks to get paid

Not sure if anyone else has had any success with the keyword mentor system but it looks like another DT dud.

Once you submit, you have no idea if the keywords are successful, and it is up to another reviewer to approve them. Why have keyword submissions if they are going to be judged? by the time it takes to read and review they might as well have typed the words themselves.

Pretty poor effort and very unprofessional.

I think they NEED to have the keywords double checked because otherwise people could go in and type either blah blah blah blah, or profanity or words that don't apply.  Dreamstime would then have to go through masses of photos trying to search and find these very poorly keyworded images - or wait for complaints from customers.

People who use the program probably can't speak english well enough to give their image good keywords - otherwise they probably wouldn't trust someone else to do it.

I don't think it is worth my time either, to keyword images for 2 cents- so I don't.  Those who think it is fun to do get a little bonus.  I guess some people like keywording..... just not me.

I tried keywording two images when it first came out for fun, but it is definitely not worth it for me.  Maybe for others that live in a country where 2 cents is worth a lot more it might be worth it, but here in the U.S. 2 cents doesn't go a long way.

I tried it as well - not for the 2c, but as a learning exercise.

I was surprised by how many obvious (to me) keywords were missed, and by how many extraneous keywords were used.

The most ignored keywords are, I think, those that describe the concept or emotional content of the image. Maybe because they're the hardest ones to come up with. Elen Boughn wrote about keywords in her blog recently. Check it out:

I tried it, too.  Learned that "I see keywords"   Cheesy

Also had some folks apply keywords to my images and learned that it's more about seeing things differently -- they offered unique ones using the photos in different applications.  Not worth the payout but I've taken this mindset with me over to my comments at LO.

Sometimes I report bad keywords.  I wish we could suggest new keywords without the minimum required for a mentor.  Often it's just a couple of words that the photographer missed.

Its a pity that DT referals only pay for 6 months

As now we can see who are referred photographers in theory you could keep an eye on your referred photographers who's keywording isn't too hot and help them out so the 2c would be a meagre advance on the 5c-20c you would earn from downloads now their images can be found.

Unfortunately with the 6 month limit and the lengthy wait for keyword reviewing it isn't really worth the effort.

Are there any keymasters out there?

Yeah, I had four. And the one who earned me 30+$ ended sometime in April .So I just missed the extension:-( I guess he has a good future.
From the other three only one has images, nice images, but only three. with one dld. However, I am happy DT changed it. It certainly is nice especially for Leaf I guess, becuase he got a lot of referrals.

Tell me about it.  I had one guy get 3 EL in his last 3 days with me.  He had a create portofolio and I am sure it is only getting better.
