Personally I've never really understood why anyone enters their images to DT assignments. For starters the image has to be exclusive to DT which for me means it is only likely to generate about 12% of it's potential income compared to what it might achieve if it were available elsewhere.

Jumping it to Level 5 isn't going to make much difference and the option to sell the rights for just $25 is a complete joke __ that's less than an average image should generate in it's first year anyway. Even if you are fortunate enough to win the top prize of $300 the image will need to be pretty special and will probably never achieve it's true worth.

Every time the site is down for maintenance and it defaults to the image of a man with blackened face holding an electricity cable, which was one of the first assignment winners, I always wonder how much the (excellent) image might have made on all sites if it were available.
