@Vonkara; I see that pancaketom managed to explain where I failed. And there certainly are plenty of photos from Greenland. If the buyer goes in and changes to "sort by relevancy", he'll find them. But it's an extra obstacle, and since all humans by default are lazy, it's an argument against searching and buying from Dreamstime.
Actually you was right the first time. It was changed by most download as the default search. I will edit my previous post. I also think it's not a good thing since the last relevancy was a success. Then I don't understand at 100% this decision. Though, Freezingpicture had a BME. Will see next month anyway because this is new right now. But it will certainly advantage the people with high downloaded files. But not the first impression of buyers comming to DT and looking for relevent subjects IMO.

Don't like the new search ... sales dropped dramatically past week.
Today only 2 sales.... with 6500 images online... and this is no april's fool.

Wow! That really doesn't sound good. You have a great portfolio.

But it is right, something happened at DT and it looks bad on my sales too.

Yes, I read your thread at Dreamstime. For me it's very good since from 2 downloads yesterday of older exclusive images with high image levels alone, I had 11$. Those shots never really "flied" but Achilles asked me to optimize keywords and title a week ago, and I did it for all my older images with higher image rank.

It's a good strategy since "relevance" as determined by the search engine is only determined by the metadata/keywords, while real relevance might more depend on previous sales and views. What's more, as the contributor wins more on high image level images, Dreamstime in general too will have more revenue. My RPD went up from $1.39 in February 2009 to $2.41 in March which confirms this guess.
My referral income went slightly up from $4.49 in February to $4.54 in March, and considering these ports are more recent, it all fits.

In every search algorithm change, there are winners and losers. I turned out to be a big loser on Istock and a winner on DT. That's microstock life.

Your port is very vulnerable to algorithm changes, and you should analyze its content. With 5,000+ online, you have large series of similars, and the concepts/settings are limited. That means you are competing with your own images and you will reach high image levels on selected images much slower. With limited variety, you will also have less sales from visual search in your port. My keyword-less sales are 60% of the total, indicating visual search. On a side note, you should pay more attention to keywords and title. Many shots of your daughter have just the title "kid" and the keywords are limited. On every shot you use "beautiful" but that's not really a search term since all landscapes, nature and girls are "beautiful".

Whoever has a high production with a constant flow of new images should also upload to ShutterStock, where new images rank high in the search engine but die quickly. Dreamstime is more an investment in the long run.

I need just $1.49 for a BME at DT. I have just checked the new search engine, and with the view set at relevancy, 80 photos per page, I put in a keyword and got 25 photos on page 1. I certainly can't complain.

Same observation here. Most of my "tropical waterfall" come up in the first 5 pages, and finally my "beach jump" shots are in the first 2 rows. Should add those are exclusive images. Giving a higher rank in the engine to shots with a high image level will serve DT as a whole too. Of course, I'm pro  Grin

The problem with the DT dls search is that lots of crappy images that have been put into the assignment are coming up in the first pages as they have been bumped up to 100dls.  So even if they have never sold which is often the case they will come up before far superior images that have sold 80 or 90 times.

True I saw the same. That's a problem and sales are comming one problem also for me. I'm not advantaged by the downloads/decending, but I was with the relevency/decending. Again, other people win with this, but it's getting ridiculous to see earnings up and down constantly like this

Same here... don't like the new search engine, significant sales drop. Am going back to my images to revamp some titles and keywords & see what happens.

I see a HUGE boost in my sales and RPD (now above 2$). It seems I am a lucky one when it comes to the search engine changes. Yes, and these are mainly my 3,4 and 5th level images. Nice to see if someone pays 13 credits for your image Wink
This said... who knows what the next change will look like. Everything is so inconsistent here Wink

I'm very pleased with whatever DT is doing. My sales have spiked way up in all my main categories -- my images make up to 50% of the first pages on two of my main subject key words. Very impressive work by this site.

 Smiley Dear frends,
Thank you very much to yours opinion.
I accept you completely to my analysis .These suggestions are big help to me.
In fact I unceasingly am also improving these insufficiencies.
But did not indicate that this change is good for most people.
Hoped that the time can prove all .
In any event, I thank you to your direction.

Ok, its been nearly a month, no sale at DT, thinks are looking mighty bleak.  My current uploads are not being viewed much either, very sad days! Sad  Just when I thought I was getting the hang of things!
