Why the always make it look pretty and not so much usable? Do they really test it before release?

So much crap at the top of the page but I cannot see submit button :-(

I really like the old way better.  We should at least have a choice to use the old way.  Well I guess I will stop uploading there because it is too much work for the prices we are getting for our images.

I really like the new one better. The map that popped up on some categories was annoying. Now you can pull it up if you want to. Never really got the map thing. I can't imagine someone taking the time to drill down on a map, rather than just typing in the location as part of the search.

The category selection is an extra click, but I think once I get used to it, it will be quicker and  I'll like it better than scrolling through every category in the list.

Didn't have a problem finding the submit button and don't see any more work there than I used to.

Its somewhat clumsy and I cant get more than one image uploaded at a time.  Even two images would not get on after 5 or 6 attempts. Then I had to upload one by one.

I upload via automated FTP as I always have. Just took me under 2 minutes to process 10 images after uploading.

Once I figured out where everything was it wasn't much more work - only for the stupid categories, which are always a real pain if I can't just re-use them from a previous image. This isn't even too much of a problem except where there aren't actually any categories that fit, so I have to look at all the different sub categories too. That is a pain. Otherwise it is about the same - no real improvement, but not a big step backwards either other than moving things around for no apparent reason.

the new version is much quicker for me -- mainly reducing the amt of scrolling I need to do in finding categories, or the extra time refreshing to use previously selected categories.  plus the entire page is smaller, so I don't have to scroll thru all the stuff I never needed anyway

it also makes the difference between editorial & commercial a bit easier to see -- previously I would often end up submitting the commercial image after a few editorials as editorial, and it would be rejected

Today was the first time I had occasion to use the new submission page.  Overall it worked fine for me.  I uploaded 10 images via FTP and everything went through just fine.  The only issue I had was the keywords were all broken up.  No word combinations were available.  Real pain when using scientific designations which are almost always in word pairs.  Has there been any discussion regarding this?  I don't visit the DT forums (not even sure how to access them).  I basically just said to hell with it and let everything go through as individual words, which of course will make no sense to anyone looking at the keywords.  But if that's what DT wants, then ....?

Keywords have always been broken up there. They are relisted alphabetically. No phrases but if a phrase is put into the search box with all the words it works the same.

Thanks.  Guess I never noticed it before or I had always used single words.  Anyway, so long as it works and DT doesn't care about odd-ball floating individual words I can live with it.

Miss the map feature, cant seem to figure out the new one
Miss the ability to get categories from previous images
Why wont they let us edit the editorial/commercial status after submission. I've had many instances where i put a image in the wrong set

No idea why they do that, it creates a ton of spam.

The keyword editor on Deposit is broken and splits up keyword phrases, when it shouldnt
Shutterstock has a bug that breaks up keyword phrases after approving an image

Both Deposit and Shutterstock cant fix  the problem. So it seems that 3 agencies are now stuck with massive amounts of spam keywords.

Big Apple for new york, is now big, apple. Searching for Apple gives you NY images. I dont know why an agency wants to serve results to the buyers like that.

I like the new design: all useful information in a single compact page without scrolling.

It's an improvement over the old version, and a big improvement over the intermediate version (last week). They could get rid of categories altogether, but one click is already better than two (last week version).

it is better now -especially drag and drop upload - but I don t understand why we have to upload files one by one - otherwise we get error, if we drag them all at once....???!!

To me it seems to be exactly the same as the old system but in a different layout.

If they are going to redesign it they should add a batch editing feature.

Oops, I noticed just in time that "sell the rights" is now default ON !  And if I switch it off, the next image is ON again  >:(

Me too.  I uploaded a batch 2 days ago and it was off.  I did another batch today and it was defaulted to on for each pic.

Thanks Anyka, I just noticed this after reading to your post.

Here's a home-made quick cure... until they hopefully fix it
requires Firefox and Greasemonkey; .zip needs to be decompressed and then .js file dragged to Firefox window

So much crap at the top of the page but I cannot see submit button :-(

I also added a 300 pixel scroll down, to show the submit button

Have they killed off the weird partial rights sales licenses? I had those off in the old version but I don't see where they are on this one and I don't know if they are somehow hidden in other ELs or if they are just abolished. I don't even remember exactly what they were.
Defaulting the EL/rights sales to on is bad, we should be able to fix those to our own preference. I'll miss the automatic pasting of categories from other images.
Apart from that it's probably a slightly better layout than the old one.

Maybe you mean SR-EL1 and SR-EL3. It is lumped together with the SR-EL license. If you choose to activate that one these also apply. Your image will be taken off the site for 1 or 3 years then will magically reappear.

Time Limited Exclusivity (SR-EL1, SR-EL3):
This license represents an exclusive right to use the downloaded media, but such exclusivity will only last for a limited period of time. The buyer can use the media exclusively (exclusivity applies from the moment that the file was downloaded using this license) during the time period selected, and include it in any type of design with just a few restrictions: sensitive subjects may still apply and the buyer may not claim that the file was created by him nor resell it as his work [photo/media].
Dreamstime will disable the image immediately after the buyer acquired this license. The Contributor will be required to disable the file permanently from all other places where he or she may sell it, as soon as possible after the sale occured, but no longer than 72 hours. The Contributor acknowledges and agrees to provide the buyer with the exclusive right to use the file retrieved using the SR-EL1 or SR-EL3 licenses, for the duration of the selected exclusivity period.
The length of time for the exclusivity period depends on which license is selected. SR-EL1 will grant an exclusive right to use the media for one year. Similarly, SR-EL3 will grant an exclusive right to use the image for three years. The print run for both licenses is unlimited and continues after the exclusivity expired. At the end of the exclusivity period, the buyer`s license will continue as before, with all of the same rights, except for the right of exclusivity, and the image will again be added to the available library of media on Dreamstime.com and again be made available to all users for purchase. After the end of the exclusivity period, the Contributor will also be free to offer the media for download from other places where the Contributor sells his or her media.

Well I find the new upload page is pretty useless because you can't select similar files for copying and pasting to save time like you could with the old design. Why do people have to mess with what isn't broken ?

Yes you can, Herg, they've hidden it as an "autopopulate" button on the top right side of the upload box. Click on that and a pop-up appears that give you the old copying options (I found it a couple of days back).
