DTs default search is for 'Best Seller' as opposed to 'Most Relevant'. So old photos that have slowly built up sales keep getting pushed to the top (therefor sell more, stay top etc). Meanwhile your newer maybe more relevant and better quality photo is kept low down where there's less chance of selling because it hasn't sold.

Easy to see If you try searching yourself.
Why most folk on their forums who claim the site is still doing well signed up in the early 2000s where there was less competition, their photos sold so now are still top of the pile.

Dead. Stone dead.

How big is your portfolio?  Still uploading?

Can I expect that magically after 1 year my new images will start to sell then?

Interesting way for them to do that.

The thing is they are adding images at a phenomenal rate upto 54 million I don't know how their sales compare with SS but this will spread the jam very thin!

In my experience new images have never taken off on DT like they have on SS or other sites. They also used to have some sort of rotation of portfolios so you would get periods of decent sales with periods of very low sales in between. I think they said this was to make it fair. More likely to keep people from giving up entirely.

It does seem that old stuff is mostly what sells, but almost completely subs. The rare credit sales are what makes or breaks a month as far as total income goes though. As those become even less common I suppose it is the ratio of $2 subs to .35 subs.

Like every site the jam is getting spread thinner and thinner and the sites are taking more and more of it to start with.

New images always take ages to gain traction on DT. Still one of my top sites with growing sales.

nothing sell...upload good batch of 500 this month nothing moved....12 download for 4 dollar...i will not upload anything to this site anymore till i see a recovery...worst than can stock...they have an appalling research algorithm who favorite only old ugly file...thats why u see many old contributor with terrible images still selling much better than more skilled contributor.

It builds up very slowly there. I've been there for one year, have over 700 images and have not collected my first payout yet. Very frustrating.

the agency clearly has trouble, many,. is falling down literally, i suspect in few times a good candidate for closing.

I know a lot of people dislike this agency but they still do better than FT for me. There must be some reason buyers keep shopping there. Yes, no new images sell though. Maybe it is because I started in 2008 ...

How on earth can you do better on DT than FT. I need a year to earn same amount that I earn on FT in 1 month.

No sales so far this year. Then again, I only have a very small portfolio on DT - under 200 images. Most of my 15 sales were made last year.

what  bothers me really is that you cannot edid the keywords like in fotolia for some reason.when i first started at them i uploaded pics, from a cell phone and i didnt think of many good keywords to ad and mostly becouse english is not my first language. Also  i didnt find this useful keyword tool on this site to help me bit,so i only had 2 sales so far.
not to mention about rejections i dont get  >:(

That's strange. I can edit keywords quite easily in Dreamstime. Just go to 'Edit' to the right of the image in "Your online files" and then do as much editing as you like.
