Really great work, the only thing I would say is do some shorter versions with that material. A bit long for a watch

Undoubtedly you have exceptional qualities for photography and video. You have a great sense of the frame, a great sense of composition and light, a good feeling for the color, and a great understanding of the movement.
I like the choice of music  even if, in the long run, this constantly repeated music phrase, from the piano, becomes boring and even overwhelming (my personal feeling of course).
Instead, the video editing does not speak to me. I do not see a logical thread, I do not see a story. I only see a sequence of events without connection between them. I dont understand from where you come, where you want to go and what way you want to use to join you destination. In the end I have the impression that you are going without an aim, that you are lost.
But I repeat, your images are really very beautiful!

Beautifully done, Brighton! All well thought out and choreographed. I'd love to work with the footage. I can see a real poignant story with the dancers. One - perhaps, dancing alone at the end of the story. Your work is a real showcase demonstrating your professionalism. Bravo!

Thank you JJ,
I am glad you appreciated.
I know it is long, but I had no choice: youTube new rules are that a video has to be at least 10 minutes long.
Double thanks if you watch it until the end. I know, ten minutes is a lot, but you don't want to go against YouTube, do you?

Really? Someone must tell the millions of artists uploading songs every day.

Thank you,
I started with an idea of a story, a sort of homage to a town that I like and where I have spent one year.
But on YouTube every video must be at least 10 minutes, otherwise you don't get any kind of credit (also you are payed by minutes of watch time, not on views...).
So I had to add a lot of material (some of it not of the best quality), you cannot have a story with a 10 minutes video.
I also made the choice of doing it on 4k (again, YouTube prefers 4k), so I could not use some excellent HD footage that I have on Brighton.
Probably my logical thread was to hope that some viewers would fall asleep and keep the video running for the entire length :-).
But anyway, I am surprised by the huge number of views that I am getting, and also most people are watching until the end, so I am very happy about it

YouTube videos can be any length.

The only reason to stretch beyond 10 minutes is so that they put more ads in the video. So it's purely to potentially make make more money. This makes no sense if that means you put in clips that you don't really want in there just to reach 10 minutes.

And in a video like this, there's nothing more annoying than ads playing in the middle of it...

Real nice work Brightonti,
It's like a day in the life around Brighton.

Really like your portfolio too, like all the time-lapses in and around the UK. You've got a true filmmakers eye.

Of course it is for making money.
What other reason could be? For the glory of planet Mars?

If you can't figure out another reason to put together timelapse videos than to make money, I'm afraid I can't help you. But why didn't you make it 1 hour long? You can fit in even more ads then.

Because YouTube minimum length is 10 minutes.
For 60 minutes of footage it makes much more sense to make 6 videos of 10 minutes

I'm sorry to ruin your thread. You have some beautiful timelapses. I know how much work that goes into it.

It's just that you can't just write statements that aren't true. YouTube minimum length is not 10 minutes. It's just the minimum length for MULTIPLE ads. Big difference.

Only 9 out of the 20 top trending videos in the UK are over 10 minutes. Just stop saying that "YouTube minimum length is 10 minutes"... It's not.

You are not by any means ruining my thread. Actually your are keeping it alive, which is very good.

For the sake of the 10 minutes YouTube discussion, have a look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTv5fXMwSz4&t=209s
Start from 2:15 and watch for about a minute. This guy is one of the biggest YouTubers, although I don't like him at all.
Yes, you can make 3-4 minute video on YT, but nobody will watch them because they don't get promoted.
Unless you are doing it for other purposes rather than making money on ads (like musicians to promote themselves), but this kind of videos have recently been moving more and more to Vimeo or other platforms for the same reasons: on YT a video shorter than 10 minutes is buried
