After doing photography for a few months, I am interested in getting into video.  The camera I have is a Canon 5D Mark iii with a 70-200, f 4.0 lens and a nifty fifty.  What would you guys recommend to shoot something like this:

I was thinking of getting a steadicam like this one--

Really not sure what other equipment I need or whether I should get a tripod or steadicam.  Help?

Definitely buy the tripod first, and don't skimp. You'll use the tripod about 100 times more often than the steadicam. If you have the budget, get both, but the one that you linked to won't fly your Mark III well. Also, you'll want a wider lens to use with a steadicam.

Thanks a lot for the tip.  Do you have any recommendations for which tripod?

there quite a lot good tripods out there...manfrotto/triopo/velbon/giotto....etc

choice of tripod is not the problem if you shoot in studio (just need to be solid)...head is the problem depends on what you want to shoot

ball head, 3 axis or video head...are all made for different kind of work...personally i use 3 axis in studio and ball head for timelapses/hyperlapses and outdoor photography...but as you say you want to make video i think a video head would be better for you (camera movements are smoothed)
