Hi all,
I'm all new to featurepics. I uploaded a bunch of photos, and I'm happy to see that I can set my prices there. I don't have much experience in this though, so it would be helpful to have some suggestion.
What I uploaded is exactely the content of my freshly opened yay account (these guys accepted 100%!). I am "totony" there.
Could you tell me what price you suggest for this kind of portfolio / quality ?
I know it's not a one size fits all, and I should tweak the price per photo depending on its potential, but I'd like a baseline from which I can go up and down from for some photos.

Featurepics has a really cool link in the "Photo Club" section. http://www.featurepics.com/stat/stat.aspx

Here it tells you what % of the contributors have their images at certain prices and then another % of what the buyers are actually buying. Unfortunately, don't get your hopes too high as I don't know of anyone who is doing really well there.

If you go by the pie chart though, anywhere between $1-$10 should do ok, but if you increase the price anymore, not nearly as many people will buy it.

Thanks for the link, it was great. I guess my baseline will be 5$. Maybe more for my bestsellers, and less for the least commercial ones.

For my microstock images, I set the price to have roughly US$1 in the smaller version. This means pricing at about $4-6 the full sizes, which in my case are generally 3-7MPix.

In another account, I have my non-microstock portfolio, which I set at a much higher price (US$50-80 for RF).

I have mine at $10 for the full size image. I can't see much point in having lower prices because sales are infrequent there and it would take too long to reach a payout. I did try $5 for a while but it didn't increase sales.

for me sales aren't huge, but enough to keep going. as sales aren't big it is possible to try different pricing without losing too much money.

most people seem to be in the $5-$10 range. personally I found $5 worked best for me (as a lot of my stuff is pretty generic etc). I found taking resize option off improved my overall $ earn't.
