Excellent, thanks Matt.

Can the same change be made at Fotolia, automatically setting the EL's to maximum instead of minimum?

Also, any chance of getting the ability to sort within your own portfolio, and then edit the file from search as I mentioned a few times in the other thread?

Thanks Matt,

I have been very impressed with Adobe and their help in getting my video online there! Love the site and treatment of the artist!

Make the thumbs on the sales page clickable to the actual video, or at least, make them have hover previews.

I would be very glad if the default setting in My Statistics is "How many credits have I earned?" instead of "How many of my files have been viewed?"!

Really like the Adobe site layout and I like that you can see the number of views and sales on each photo, but it would be great to see how much you've actually earned on each photo too, since earnings per sale is variable. Like many here, I like to track shoots and figure out what is working so I can adjust my uploads accordingly. The addition of that most useful of statistics, right on the photographer facing portfolio page would be great.

+1 Fairplay's suggestion that default setting in My Statistics is "How many credits have I earned?" instead of "How many of my files have been viewed?"

Like that ELs are automatically set to the maximum amount.

Again, fun to meet you in person at PhotoPlusExpo. Really appreciate your efforts to keep us informed here. With iStock's latest move, it's nice to feel one of the big guys is listening to their contributors.

I think I asked this already recently, does anybody observe a bug whereby when you select several images which have identical metadata (keywords, titles, etc.), you cannot prioritize (drag) keywords anymore, i.e. no keywords for batch-selected images appear in the new submission tool? I'm pretty sure this was possible shortly after the launch of the new tools, but not anymore. It's very annoying as I have to do it the old way, one by one, which is really a waste of time. Is it only my issue (tried in various browsers) or anybody else can confirm this?

Thanks for checking this out!

Dear Mat Hayward,

(This is a copy of my message from "Adobe Stock Contributor Site now live!", because that thread was closed, but no answer received.)

Currently 1 EUR = 0.9 GBP. But when I convert my credits at Fotolia (Adobe Stock) the rate is 0.75. It means: I earn 100 credits = 100 EUR and should get 90 GBP via Paypal, but Fotolia (Adobe Stock) sends me 75 GBP only.

This way all the UK contributors lose 15 GBP from every 100 credits (90 GBP) earned. It is a hidden 17% fee.

Why so? When are you going to fix the rate? Will you update it weekly to reflect the actual rate?

Thank you in advance for your answer.

How about just starting a new thread for this issue? It is a major concern.  Though I think the best solution is for all payments to be in dollars and let your bank or payment provider do the calculations, I think it makes sense to discuss it in its own thread.

Justanotherphotographer, I can create a new thread. Or the moderator can do that and move the text to that thread. (The text is here now, because I am sure Mat Hayward reads this thread, but I am not sure he reads all other threads.)

And yes, I'd prefer my bank or Paypal to do the calculations.

At Adobe Stock and Fotolia we are selling content from contributors around the world to a global community of buyers. The royalties earned are based on the purchase price of an image in the local currency. We are keeping an eye on currency fluctuations, and if there is a major and sustained trend in currency conversion rates we take action to adjust. At this time we dont have plans to adjust the GBP conversion.

Kind regards,

Mat Hayward

I disagree, I think the best solution would be for all payments in Euros....after all, Fotolia is European agency.

... We are keeping an eye on currency fluctuations, and if there is a major and sustained trend in currency conversion rates we take action to adjust. ...

Thank you for your answer. Please clarify what does "major and sustained" mean with some specific figures. (Both the words "major" and "sustained" are countable and become useless without digits.)

Is "major" equal to 20%? Or maybe 25%? Is "sustained" equal to 3 months? Or maybe 6 months?

Based on those figures we can make decisions like: "Convert credits and withdraw now.", "Do not convert for 3 months till Adobe fixes the exchange rate" etc.

Changing from my yahoo email to my gmail worked...getting notifications again. I dont know what yahoo did, but they have messed up. I will likely start phasing that email account out. I have already changed my paypal account, dont want to have issues getting my payments. One might not have anything to do with the other, but i am not taking any chances.

Hi Mat,

will there be a way to apply to Fotolia Infinite?

Or to suggest exclusive images upon upload for macro inspection?

You could also give us a quota. 5 files a month, 10 files a month, that we can suggest for the editors, depending on rank.

You have artists from all over the world, if you give them a clear guidance or monthly missions or themes, you will be able to choose from a lot of interesting stuff.

Perfect way here, always finding something wrong. Used to be for years how people paid in pounds made more and US contributors wanted to be paid in pounds.

Paypal takes around 4% for the currency conversion. Banks take 1% to 3% usually. Do you prefer to pay 17% (now and possibly more when GBP goes lower) at Fotolia for it?

Why don't you allow us to choose currency for each payment?

Since there is not a "major and sustained trend in currency conversion rates" I am sure it will cost you nothing  ;)

I've gone through the login process twice. After I login with my Adobe ID, it asks me if I'm have a Fotolia account. I say yes and enter that ID and password - it's not an email address. It then asks me to upload images as if I have none. If I log out and start over, I get the same thing.

Edit: After the 3rd time logging out and back in, my images appeared. I'm still not sure of the advantage of learning a new interface, but I'll check it out

First thing I notice is there isn't much information. Stats page is pretty bare bones. I'll probably keep using Fotolia until things get fleshed out

It's the most irritating search engine ever.

If you search for unusual items the site substitutes what it thinks you should be looking for and defaults to video only searches.

When you select "ALL" it just takes you back to a blank search screen.

C'mon it's been like this for weeks can't you get them to fix it?  ???

Yes, that is still the same. The most relevant keywords must be listed in the first 7.

Are you sure that the first seven are key to search success? I have quite a lot of files where I forgot to re-sort (as you know Lightroom exports keywords alphabetically) and if I search for "lincoln memorial dawn", one of my images pops up in second position. The three keywords are well down the list. I can change "dawn" to "sunrise" - even further down the list, and I still appear in 4th position. I was thinking of going through my files one by one on the site and re-organizing the keywords, but it does look, from this experiment, that the results may not be dramatic.

Hi Mat,

Will we be able to edit our keywords and titles at all? I have a lot of files uploaded when I started earlier this year and my keywording was a mess. I haven't spammed but my keywords could be much better and more relevant. I imagine a lot of people are in the same situation.

I tried to prepare some video for submission in the Adobe site - I couldn't see any way of simply copying all my keywords into the form. When I tried to do that into one of the keyword boxes, they all stayed in that one box (they were separated by semi-colons). In the Fotolia indexing page, I can just copy my keywords in and they are all recognized as separate keywords.

Hi Steve,

After you copy your keywords into the top box you need to hit the 'tab' key to distribute them to their own individual boxes.

This didn't work for me - first, there aren't enough characters in the keyword box and so it truncates the list of keywords, and then pressing Tab only moved the cursor to the next keyword box. It didn't distribute them.

Hi Mat

It was a semi colon because the system I used to sort the keywords stored them like that. As you know, I can't do that in Lightroom. The semi colon works in the Fotolia contributor page so I've done it that way.

I didn't realize the semi-colon doesn't work in the contributor portal. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I have reported this and I expect it will be addressed by the engineers within the next few weeks.

This has been fixed Steve. You can now enter all fifty keywords into the top box (separated by commas not semi-colons) and hit tab to distribute them all. I just tested it and it worked well. Let me know if you have any issues.

The GBP/USD rate dropped down 6 months ago (on June 26th, the proof: http://finance.yahoo.com/quote/GBPUSD=X?p=GBPUSD=X ). It is obvious that GBP/USD and EUR/GBP rate is not going to return back to its "before Brexit" state. This trend is definitely sustained.

They have not fixed it when euro/dollar was 1.35 - 1.4.
FT didn't care the majority of contributors was underpaid by 35%-40%, because they liked to pocket that difference. They are still pocketing, today, 4-5% taken out of US contributors'  FT  paycheck.

Do you think they will care about a minority of UK contributors and make the adjustment against their own interest?

The good news is that AS plan to be more aggressive on the US market, forced them to migrate to $ based prices AND royalties, in order to avoid overpaying EU contributors for their growing US sales.

I guess US and UK contributors can only wish for the on-going FT to AS transition to accelerate, to get something closer to fair pay.

Is it?
Do you need to 'join' Adobe Stock? Or does FT stuff go to AS?

I would like to know approx how many buyers Adobe-stock had BEFORE joining up with FT?  many high ranked members of FT had a huge increase of sales immediately after the merger and then complained sales just completely flatlined and for no apparent reason at all.
Of course the Adobe brand name is a very solid ground but selling stock-pictures is really a totally different thing/business. At the moment I feel its all a bit shakey as if not knowing which way to go? the old Oleg/FT road with lots of "hokus-pokus" or the new Adobe road.

Just curious really since I do have many thousands of files invested with Adobe/FT.

Good luck, you are on both already, it's just a matter of syncing your accounts so you can edit and work the new system at AS.

So what is the metadata ingestion tool like at AS? As FT is manual and adds unnecessary labor costs to the marketplace that technology could easily fix. On AS can you mass submit like on p5 or VB?

I don't work for them and don't understand your complaint, twice now. I submit with words in the photos IPTC and the system reads them just fine. No cut and paste. Same images go to many sites, all read. I use commas or spaces to divide.

FT isn't manual, neither is AS. I don't understand your cut and paste question? Maybe somebody else knows what you are asking.

Only boxes I need to click for upload on AS system is one catagory and recognizable people, yes or no. I do pick the best top seven keywords and put them on top, using an up arrow. That's all. No cut and paste, reads everything right from the files.

Very fast and easy. Easiest of all sites I upload to.

Sorry about that seems both of us linked to the same locked thread and the forum just goes to the main page. Follow the link and look down the list for "Adobe Stock Contributor Site now live!" locked thread in blue. Read the first post from Mat that explains much of the details for us.

Wow, this looks cool. So do I need to keep uploading the same images to both Fotolia and Adobe Stock ? or is uploading to only one of them enough ?

It seems that one is enough. I found my Fotolia portfolio on Adobestock.

Cool, so uploading to fotolia as always. And the sales will be paid as per the payment schedules of both

Not sure if this has been reported, but on the Alamy side, if I click on any link on the Sales page, it returns Not Found
i.e. https://contributor.stock.adobe.com/en/sale/58903769
